In the past I contributed a story or two. Today I was going to post one a Police Down, Sgt. Tim Prunty from Shreveport. I've had a couple of local stories recently too (news stories, not forum posts) , but can no longer find the link to post. I hate to be stupid but can someone tell me where it's gone, or post a link to post news articles?  Thank you kindly.

Are you a new member or an old one coming in under a different name?

If new - post an intro in the appropriate thread.

Reason I ask is I see you've only made two posts in the forums.

yes, I'm aware I've only made two posts. I tend not to post in forums simply because I work such long hours that I lurk unless I have something to say :-).

Lately there have been some issues with police in my town that deserve publicity -- I had hoped to post the articles, as well as one from this morning's officer killed in Shreveport.

Posting "Officer Down" articles is usually taken care of by Police Link Staff, once it is made official on the ODMP website. As far as old articles, I don't know if they are deleted after a while or just fall off into cyber land. Links to submitted newspaper articles are probably deleted, since the original article doesn't stay online for very long anyway. (Just my thoughts.......)

I'm a writer/reseracher at the present time and would prefer to post police issue stories here first, rather than some of the other venues I have access to. Here's hoping they restore the link to post news.

As it was recently explained to me by one of the moderators, the option that allowed members to submit stories or links has been removed because of misuse by some members who posted stories without providing authentication as to the origin of said story.

agh. well, that's a problem everywhere in my business. Unless people post where they got a story, or resources that can be contacted, it can sometimes seem like playing 'gossip' when we were back in school.......sad they had to discontinue that feature. The [same] police chief in my little town has been fired twice now, for ridiculous reasons, and exploring the intersection of politics and practice in policing in small towns would make an excellent story or three.
