With all the cybertrash that is out there on the Dubya-Dubya-Dubya, I remain amazed at the quality folks that end up here and put down tent stakes.

Here is a short list of the types of people and some of their backgrounds (without names) that reside here on PoliceLink:

Lotsa cops, deputies and law enforcement personnel. A LOT of supporters.

People with military backgrounds, professional backgrounds, early birds in LEO-Land and late bloomers to law enforcement.

We've got school cops, SWAT cops, deputies from small agencies, large agencies, middle of the road agencies. No kidding: Their agency is in the middle of the road.

We have high school educated folks to the Birkenstock crowd holding multiple-earned doctorates. We've got people who can't write a single sentence to save their life and others who can't stop talking. There are cyber-brilliant tech-types on the site and still others who think the Atari 2600 Pong game is the newest thing in technology. (They still haven't met Mario...) We've got people who are underpaid and others who are millionaires. (No billionaires that I know of...)

There are hunters, skaters, ska-ers, falling out of the sky-ers. Butchers, bakers and candlestick makers. Seamtresses, firearms experts, propane deliverers, scientists, car parts dealers, authors, sailors, special forces experts, hikers, bikers, dentists, painters, artists, firefighters, medical personnel, chiefs, sheriffs, roofers, printers, professional race car drivers, contractors & contractors of another description, singers, students, retirees, wannabes, and on and on and on.

We also have probationers, thieves, felons, media, attorneys, naysayers, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, con-men, con-gals and sundry taudry chesty-messes. (Thanks Blazing Saddles for the partial quote...). For these categories, we try hard to keep them reeled in.

All in all, y'all are interesting people.

Can you think of any types of people or kinds of backgrounds of folks you've bumped into on the site?

(No names, please...)

You got 'em all I think.  The insightful, delightful, the occasional frightful. The ones getting out and those coming about (as Dr Seuss wold probably write it).  The Feds, State, County, and Local and everything in between.   I for one am proud to be affiliated with theis site.

Bump Sarge... You got this one so right!  Love this place

Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have.

AND AND AND, also former motor cops. Got the road rash scars to prove it.

And, yes sir, the Heroes. They are memorialized in the Officer Down group and thoughout the site in folks' albums. Good call, Pete.

Someone here started a LEO mentoring group to help those who want to become LEO, and the founder and members have answered numerous serious questions and helped lots of people on their way to a LEO career, and are still doing so.

Outfreakingstanding, Cass. Definitely putting our best badge/star forward. It's located here: policelink.monster.com/groups/3501-the-sarges-leo-mentoring-team

Someone mentioned here the presence of IRS agents. Good. I am glad they are here. The '1040 Team' I suppose.

And, Cat, very indeed. Characters welcome.

I for one, am a recruit in the academy and I attribute some of my preparation to the FANTASTIC people on this site. I have turned to this site and its members for a lot of information. I can't begin to count all the times I have heard other officers or some of our academy staff mention something that I had read here prior to them mentioning it. You all gave me a great head start to become a great officer like many of those here. Thanks again to all those here for the right reasons!!

We also have "Sarges".  I would gladly trade 100 lieutenants for 1 good sarge.
