My mom has a close friend who is a police officer in my city and he is willing to help me, I am going on a ride along with him soon, so I was just wondering If he were to recommend me, would I have a better chance of getting hired?

however, if this friend does has a good rep, don't get cocky. by that i mean, don't think just because you know somebody that you will be able to stroll right in on easy street, you're still going to have to go through the process like everyone else.

if you and another applicant were equal at the end of the process and there was just one position available, then thats where it could possibly benefit you.
