Posted almost 6 years ago Can anyone direct me to a place where I can find training materials to train dispatchers for an Active Shooter event? |

| Posted almost 6 years ago This training was only offered to LEO's at my department...our dispatchers will close primary as with any high profile call after Deputies arrive. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago We train with our officers in active shooter scenarios on scene. We usually serve as communications critique persons and will advise where communications can be improved after witnessing the scenario. In turn they advise what types of requests they might make in those situations. If you are looking for formal training, take a look at APCO training, PSTC, and Powerphone. I believe they all offer Active Shooter training for Telecommunicators. Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalks us all our lives. But maybe time is also a companion who goes with us on our journey, and reminds us to cherish the moments of our lives because they will never come again. |
