Posted almost 6 years ago In my area, our mounted patrol unit has been disbanded due to funding and I believe recruiting. Does your department have Mounted Police and do you think they have enough officers? |

| Posted almost 6 years ago My dept. has a mounted unit. We could always use more officers, but it's hard to find officers that want to put the time in that's necessary to train properly etc. Most of our mounted unit consists of Reserves because it's just not cost effective for the dept. to have fulltime officers dedicated to just mounted patrol. We use them a lot at Mardi Gras, other large crowd events, and searchs, but that's about it. |
