I'm curious to how LEO's feel about this. Do you feel that it’s controversial? Is it something that you practice often or disregard with discretion?

(All I can say is the next person that gets in my vehicle is getting searched... lol)

When I was over detectives, I handled the Asset Forfeiture paperwork. We seized vehicles of HV / Suspended DUI drivers and drug cases. I have no trouble with the HV / DUI. If drugs & guns are found together...count your shit gone.. However, I do feel some seize property in excess to the amont of narcotics found. I don't think its in our best interest to seize a 100,000 dollar car over 3 grams of cocaine. But, like I said, "bring a gun and count ALL your shit gone".

GB,

That’s how I feel about it gun and drugs, yea I would hope you take the ride too... My class was talking about it and someone made the remark about how a detective would go after the flashy cars. To me that is kind of discriminating not everyone who drives a flashy car is a drug dealer. I have a flashy car but then again I don’t break the laws, well not on purpose =>...
