Is their anything an 18 year old can do as far as jobs go in criminal justice. I am currently in college working on my criminal justice degree. I can't find anything that I am cualified to do at my age. I don't want to wait until I'm 21 and I need money.

Your might try seeking a position dispatching. It is a very fulfilling job, and very important law enforcement support job. And it is also a great learning for those interested in a career in law enforcement. Good Luck in your search.

I live in Oregon and and I don't know if 18 year olds can do dispatch or jail. Anything as far as criminal justce goes would do. Even being a tracker for youth on probation. I'm not sure if I can do that either. I don't really have any knowledge of how this stuff works in Oregon. I've only been in college for a term.

if you are thinking about getting into law enforcement you might want to think about doing the leg work yourself. call your local department, and state department to see how things work there, even better go there in person and check it out, meet the officers face to face.most of the times you will find an officer that will tell you how it really is.

You might look into a trainee, aide or CSO positions. Some agencies have partime positions for college students. These position allow you to get a look inside the workings of a police department. Good Luck, stay safe....

Check out www.usajobs.gov and search for Border Patrol Agent or go to series search and type 1896 into the series box. The Border Patrol excepts 18 y.o. applicants. Be forewarned, the Border Patrol academy is one of the nation's toughest. It is just under 6 months long. You must complete PT, Officer Tactics, Driving, Firearms, Spanish Language, Immigration Law, Statutory Law, Judicial Law, misc. officer duty training courses, as well as multiple government policy classes. I would suggest you finish your associates degree, at the very least, before you join any LEA.

Try dispatching, internships, cadet programs, anything to get your foot in the door. Even loss prevention is good experience. I did that for a while and got to meet and work with a lot of cops through that. That and continuously educate yourself. I can say confidently that within the next 5-7 years, a bachelor's degree will be a requirement, because so many people are earning them now. Good luck,
