| Posted almost 3 years ago That's quite the BS............ While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior. Justice consists not in being neutral between right and wrong, but in finding out the right and upholding it, wherever found, against the wrong. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago I think you will find that the timing is due to Eid - the ending of Ramadan. (Sort of like Christianity having Easter at different dates every year).

| Posted almost 3 years ago And it's Catholic family day Aug 28, the anniversary of MLK "I Have a Dream" speech and he was a Babtist. At least it's not on September 11th. | Posted almost 3 years ago Chances are if you're Catholic you've got siblings and parents .... commonly called family But if you really want to go to Six Flags just go - apparently there's heaps of them. Just pick your day wisely.... (BTW) I had to check out the link the OP put up so I could figure out it wasn't actually a city somewhere. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago I scooped ice-cream at Six Flags when I was in college. I got ice-cream elbow and they put me on a pickle cart. Then I got nights slaving over a hot donut machine. Fireworks only meant my coffee break was over. Now you're telling me after all my service I have to drag all sixteen of my brothers and sisters, my parents, both sets of grand-parents, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins if I want to get into Catholic Family Day? What am I supposed to do, hire a bus? SianKiwi says ...

| Posted almost 3 years ago I sent them an email telling them this was an abomination on that weekend. They just sent bck their standard "Oh but we have our this day and our that family day". It was your typical blah blah blah yada yada yada nonsense. We will be politically correct and we don't give a damn about what Americans think. I hope nobody shows up and Six Flags rots........ |

Jonas, you are my friend... and I mean no disrespect here... but I totally have to disagree with you on this one. Like Retleo said, we were attacked on September 11th by an Extreme Radical Group. I have friends that are Muslim and are damn good people. "Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives." - Ronald Reagan

| Posted almost 3 years ago There really are some good-hearted Muslims out there. Unfortunately, the Islamic Extremists have tainted the whole Muslim religion. I"m Christian and there are Christian extremists too. There's been several of them. And they can be just as dangerous. If the Catholics can have their day at Six Flags, let the Muslims have a day also. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago It would appear that the Muslim community is deliberatly tyring to incite Americans by staging these numerous events on or around 9/11. That way if you say something they will claim 'hate speech' etc. Sorry but even though I know i should not allow it to get to me it really pisses me off considering we lost not only thousands of Americans, but hundreds of LEO's FF's, and Paramedics that day. |

There's nothing racist about it... it's about a religion. To be exact. Muslims aren't a race. Second to that, I don't think the OP is upset because they have a "Muslim Day" ... I think he's upset because it is on 9/12, the day after 9/11. I agree that the choice to pick that day is in poor choosing and insensitive to the victims of 9/11. With 365 days to choose from, Six Flags could have picked any number of days but they picked 9/12... most likely in an attempt to seem very Muslim friendly. Sorry Six Flags, you're trying too hard. Some have said that 9/12 is a significant day to Muslims because it is the end of a holy celebration. Well 9/12 has significance to Americans, it represents the day we picked ourselves up and started anew with the resolve to stand together and fight the evil that had struck us. 9/12 was our phoenix rising from the ashes of destruction. DON'T LET ANYONE DEMINISH IT! Remember 9/11, but more importantly remember America on 9/12, one nation, together. Agree, that would like having Dec. 26 as aethiest day or druid day at 6 flags. Even though it was radical muslum extremeists who caused 9/11 thay were doing in in the name of their religeon. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago I'd have to agree that it's very insensitive to the victims of 9/11 to host a Muslim Day at Six Flags. I know several Muslims as friends, and though we may not agree on religion, they are great people. The bad part for them is that the terrorists who flew the planes into the WTC and Pentagon were also Muslims, and doing it in the name of their religion. Strikes me as the same thing that happens when a LEO screws up bad. There are a lot more good ones than bad, but the bad ones paint all of us with their brush. With Muslims and Christians, or Jews, or anything else, they're damn fine people, but the bad ones make the headlines and make everyone look bad. Six Flags is trying too hard - I can't say I disagree with them having a Muslim Day; if they want to, more power to them. But for crying out loud, on or around the anniversary of 9/11? For the sake of good press and good sense, pick another day. |

You are right.. poor choice of words... it is about Religion.. but it reminded me of a racist type comment... I do hold 9/11/01 dear to my heart as the worst day ever.. since I have been alive. Don't misunderstand me. I just know that the entire Muslim Community was not at fault here. "Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives." - Ronald Reagan

| Posted almost 3 years ago So now I am called a racist and told that it was not the "peace loving" muslims but the exxtremists well when is the last time you heard any muslim leader condemn the attacks? They are told to lie to us infidels and to convert us by any means, does this not mean that by their silence on condemnation they silemtly condone the extremists tactics. And what about the treatment of women, did a NewJersy judge not just dismiss an assault marital rape case bexause the man was of the muslim faith. I am betting if any other man was charged this way he'd be in jail as we write. You all had better wake up and forget the P.C. bs and see what this is truly about or get ready to put your rug down and praise allah. Am I angry, no, just disapointed that you, most of you, who understand the ways of the criminal are so distracted by PC that you are blind to reality. T.G.G.

I don't think you're a racist, bud. I think you see the reality far better than most people, but I think a few Muslim leaders did condemn the attacks (I could be wrong on this - memoy of news headlines fades). You have also been proven right - saying nothing against something has been found to be an implicit statement of support by the Courts. I'm also sickened that some Muslims claim they should be excused from crimes in this country because their law required the action. Well, buddy, you're in my country now, and you'd better behave like it! Political Correctness is freaky to me - especially in its more rabid form that seems to say "you can't do or say anything that might offend someone else." To me, that's nonsense. I know we have got to be sensitive to other peoples' unique situations and be cognizant of the words, phrases, and body language we use (on both sides), but at some point, common sense has to kick in. |

(Duh!)
