| Posted almost 3 years ago Thank you all for your warm welcomes, especially Sarge In terms of my background as I see that my previous introduction was a bit lacking: I work full-time at my local blockbuster, usually 14-16 hour shifts. If you have seen some recent good movies, don't hesitate to let me know about them!!! I usually like any and all law enforcement films (even though the profession is glamorized a bit, especially with the stuff cop actors do to retrieve so-called evidence...I understand the process is much more difficult than portrayed in the media). And yes, I'm man enough to admit, I do like some romantic comedies / dramas (God bless the notebook). I am a full-time student at my local university where I graduate in the Fall of this year. I am interning at a state criminal justice authority that deals primarily with research and grants thereof. The only free-time I get I usually spend on homework, reading, or watching movies and just recently, check out policelink.com to get some pretty decent information, advice, and discussions. I am glad for two things after signing up for a policelink membership: 1.)I have found that police have one hell of a sense of humor (ESPECIALLY when it comes to cats vs dogs, I can't believe you outstanding people have almost the same sense of humor as I do). 2.) This website is better than facebook. In fact its kind of like facebook, but for LEOs and it lacks the idocracy of facebook!!! THANKS AGAIN GUYS, AND MAY GOD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS AS YOU PROTECT AND SERVE!!! -Ron P.S., I live in Chicago, I was born in Texas, and I've lived a few summers in New York! :)

| Posted almost 3 years ago Hi Ron--Welcome to Police Link. Enjoy the site. Great folks out here. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. "I'd rather be a failure at something I enjoy than be a success at something I hate." -- George Burns "A pessimist complains about the wind, an optimist expects it to change and a leader adjusts the sails." |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Hey Ron. Welcome to PL from IN!! Check out my Double Bump thread if you can find it (I can send you the link also). It's a thread dedicated to all the men and women that helped me along with my quest and I am proud to say that I was sworn in Monday!!!! So a story similar to yours with a very happy ending!! If you have any questions let me know! There are a lot of great people on here that are willing to answer any question (not to say that any question is stupid but some questions do deserve some very sarcastic responses, just so you are forewarned :) and will give some some really good advice. Good luck with your quest and never ever give up on your dreams. Never take life too seriously......no one gets out alive anyway :) Stay safe, take care, and God Bless ☺
