| Posted over 2 years ago I was born off-post......... when my Father was stationed at Fort Dix in the 50's. And, lucky me, The US Army sent me there.... for basic..... when I joined up in the "Be All You Can Be in the US Army" in 1976.' HooRah..... Go VOLAR

| Posted over 2 years ago Must have missed this thread (lol) Basic Training: Ft Knox, Ky - June 1978 AIT: Ft Benning, Ga - August, 1978 (and I gotta agree with BSL: Hottest part of Hell) Oddly enough, while at Ft Benning (Harmony Church), I was in the same set of Barracks that my Father was in while there for Officer School......... in 1942 (They were built as temporary billets during WWII). Dad's was on the end of the row, mine was right next to it. I was back there in 2007, just visiting. I went to take photos of the barracks and they were gone |
