You are very correct Donna. My goal is set at $2,000.00 and so far I have only raised $415.00 so we really need to get busy! There is only 50 days left to make a donation! And I have 11 names to write on me with 3 of them having their own special place!!!!

It is really a matter of simple mathematics!!!!!!!!! If I wanted yo raise a total of $2,000.00 from this point on, I would only need 200 people to donate $10.00, or I would only need 100 people who donate $20.00 a piece!!!!!  Then there is always 50 people who could donate $40.00 a piece or 20 people who would donate $100.00 a piece.

It is such a worth while cause that is completely tax deductible, and like I said earlier, at the end of the day, when they have tallied up the donations, they all go to research to help find a cure for this disease once and for all, and it also goes to education and services that the less fortunate would not be able to receive, if people as generous as you all have been, did nothing but sit on the sidelines, watching people who have been stricken with this disease, like myself and a whole lot of other people here on our site, just fall between the cracks in medical red tape, until they eventually died from this disease before their insurance company would step in and do the right thing. Not to mention all the American's we have out there right now who do not have any insurance at all!!!

I donated what I could.  I know every dollar is a big help and it's such a worthwhile cause.  I don't think there is a person out there who hasn't had cancer touch their lives. For now I'll keep bumping this thread to keep it on top and hopefully that will help. My prayers are with you.

Thank you so much Donna for helping me keep this thread "BUMPED TO THE FRONT" and every dollar is an ENORMOUS HELP! It brings us that much closer to reaching our goal. And I can't think of a single person that I know in  which cancer didn't touch their lives in one way or another. Please keep those prayers of support coming as well.

Last year, when I did my first RFL, I had just had my bilateral mastectomy on April 30th, and the Relay began in the beginning of June. I am sure I don't have to tell any of you how sore and bad I felt. Well this year, I have another extensive surgery on May 12th, and then of course the Relay starts June 5th! Talk about no time for the weary! But for those of us who works late shift or late tact know exactly what I am talking about!

Thank you so much Tom, and Cat, and DonnaLynn, and of course my big brother who is always determined to put a smile on my face, Bill9823. That is 4 more names for me to write and right now we have raised $435.00 so far!!!!!!!!!! I sincerely hope I run out of exposed skin to write on because Billy gave me a wonderful suggestion. Now with me being the Chair Woman for the event this year, and the fact that I am considered a cancer survivor until I draw my last breath, I will be wearing a special t shirt this year. Last year if you look in my albums you will notice that my t shirt was purple. Well I believe this year they are going to be white with the graphics and our sponsors written on them. Back to Billy, he suggested that if I run out of skin then I should get a white t shirt and start writing names on it! Like Rambo said, if we can get everyone in our PoliceLink community to donate just $10.00, we would definitely blow everybody else out of the water and Billy would also have to wear a white t shirt to get all of these names written down for all to see!

Anyway, we only have 50 days left to raise as much money as we can to help find a cure! When I started out this year, my goal was to raise $2,000.00. Now I am starting to think how foolish I was to try to put a cap on how much you all want to donate!!!! So from this moment on, my goal is to raise as much money as it takes to put an end to this disease that holds no regard for gender, age, or race! We need a cure and we need it now!!!!!!! I have a habit of talking to God throughout my day,, whether it is about something as simple as finding my car keys or asking for His grace and mercy to surround someone that I know who is going through a really tough time. When we let go, and let God be God, that's the time to stand back and marvel at all the miracles and blessings that pour down from Heaven like a great tidal wave!!!   That is what we need to do right here, right now. Forget about goals, because God would just look at them and giggle and say,"Oh yeah, well just watch this!" So we need to let go, and let God be God, and it would not even phase me at all, if in 50 days from now we raised more than $1,000,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!  God is no respecter of persons or situations. All we need to do is pray that He would touch the heart of every member on this website, and whisper in their ears as to how much they should donate!

I will get off of my soapbox now, and anxiously await to see what happens next!!!!!!!!

with all my love that knows no end,

Forever your lil and sometimes your BIG sis in blue...........

THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT ! EVERY CITY AND TOWN NEWSPAPER HAS A LISTING JUST LIKE THIS. IF THIS DON'T GET YOU TO DIG DEEP , NOTHING WILL.
Jacob Matthew Boudreau
Jacob Matthew Boudreau, 12, of Shrewsbury, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at home, surrounded by his beloved family.

He leaves his loving parents, James W. and Kristen N. (Lourie) Boudreau; his two siblings: Hannah E. and Michael S. Boudreau; his paternal grandfather, Lawrence V. Boudreau and his companion Lavaun Barry of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Joan A. (Guerin) Lourie of Shrewsbury; his maternal great grandmother, Florence T. Guerin of Shrewsbury; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including a very special uncle and aunt, Jeffery and Carol Lourie of Auburn and their children Gabriella and Isabella. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Ruth J. (Bradshaw) Boudreau and by his maternal grandfather, Jason Lourie. Jacob was born in Worcester and has lived in Shrewsbury for most of his life. He was a 7th grade student at Oak Middle School, where he will be missed tremendously by his teachers and friends. He also attended Coolidge Elementary and Sherwood Middle Schools. Jacob loved the Red Sox, enjoyed spending time at the beach, camping, and being with his friends. He also loved his two faithful canine companions, Hallie and Lilly. Throughout his illness, Jacob was an inspiration for all who loved, cared and came to know him. Jacob's "journey" brought out the very best in everyone around him. Jacob faced many challenges with grace and acceptance and because of those challenges he became involved with multiple causes related to his battle, including participating in the Relay For Life celebrations both in Shrewsbury, and in Auburn where Jacob was not only the captain of the Auburn Police Department Relay Team, but the "Little Angel" cutting the ribbon which signified the start of the event. Jacob also participated in several Kids Pan Mass Challenge Rides across the Commonwealth and he not only rode, but helped organize the first Kids PMC in his town of Shrewsbury. Jacob also inspired many friends and family to ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge, where Jacob was a Pedal Partner for Team L.E.G.S. Jacob was a leader who motivated others through his enthusiasm and zest for life.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all those who have helped Jacob during his illness, including the teachers and students of Shrewsbury, and the many Doctors and nurses for their ongoing care and dedication. A very special Thank You to Eileen L. at Dana Farber, for her never ending gift of hope.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours which will be held on SUNDAY, April 18th from 3-6 p.m at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 19th, at 10 a.m in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. (Please go directly to the church.) Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, ATTN: Contribution services, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, or to the Hole In the Wall Gang Camp, 555 Long Wharf Drive, New Haven, CT 06511, or to Why, 1152 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602. For directions, to share a memory, or to leave a message of sympathy for Jacob's Family, please visit www.

Bump Rambo_911, even if every member of Police Link made a $5.00 or even a $1.00 the amount would be astronomical with our numbers here on PL.

I guess I will help the bumping. I know Kimber has been wanting to get on here the past couple of days but I am afraid she has been bed ridden since friday night.......... She should be okay in a few more days...... I am not going to elaborate too much on her condition unless she has to go back into the hospital before her next surgery........ just know that she could use all the prayers you can spare right now....... I will keep this thing going and hopefully raise some money by the time my wife is able to log on again......
