Here's a good one to chew on for awhile. I was called into the bosses office last week and told that because another officer who has been there.. longer than me broke the rules at one of our clients and the client did not want him anywhere near the property. So now I lose my 8.00 an hour position at another client so that he can have a paycheck! I have to work his 7.50 an hour position because of his f-up! What would you do or say to him and management? I never met the idiot but I have seen some of his work such as taking his pic on the client cell phone and puting alarm's so he can wake up and do his rounds once an hour! The guy is 78 and should have retired long ago.

Congrats on getting screwed by management for such an event... that sort of thing is VERY typical of the contract security industry. All you can do is ride it out and wait for a better assignment. Just do your best and stay on track...

At least you HAVE a 7.50/hr job, many folks out there don't even have that...

Total BS!  I'd be prudent about the situation just to keep a paycheck coming but, I would not waste any time if finding another place to work.  A change in assignment isn't a genuine gripe but taking money out of your pocket unjustly is.  They've given you all of the reason I would need to find me another job.  Most everybody gets jerked-around at some point at a job but, I draw the line when they take money out of my pocket for somethinng I did not do to deserve such action.  Something like that happens once, it will probably happen again.

I must agree. Find another employer. I got jerked around a bit at my current job, but it worked out in my favor. I snagged a cozy M-F 7-3 shift and then it was taken away by a senior employee because they moved some peronnel around. I had to take a worse shift, but got a better building and an extra buck an hour, so it's all good. It's funny, now they want me to switch back, but if I do, I still get to keep my pay rate. I made sure of that and that was my first question. Again, look elsewhere. It sounds like your company has some bad accounts and doesn't care much about their clients or employees.

That sort of thing happens in the company I work for all the time. In fact I have been "removed from sites" myself usually over a misunderstanding unfortunately. It sounds like you work for a company similar to Securitas that pays by what site you work that can work for or against you. Our company has set wage scales for the officers depending on the ammount of trining you have not the site you work so I make the same no matter where I go, but the hours vary. Your position is unfortunate and I can understand the resentment but unfortunately it goes with the company's policies. (ther are several policies I have wanted to change at the company I work for that seem blatantly illegal but they are not and we are stuck with them like paying out og your own pocket for all your training.)

I too agree find another place to work, that's what I am doing also.

I'd forget Securitas, they have some very (how shall we say) interesting hiring criteria. I have 4 years in the field and a bachelor's degree in Criminal justice and they won't hire me either.

Securitas is an interesting company to say the least. But you ought to see about thier contract with theV.A medical center in Gainsville,FL. 11.50 an hr for parking lot security! They must have 50 people working the day shift alone!
