So here is the deal, I have this project for my Law Enforcement management class where I am starting a brad new department.  I wont go into every detail, but you you could let me know a rough estimate of how many officers there are to the number of citizens who RESIDE in your town, that would be very helpful.  My "city" has a population of 6,000 if that does anything for you.  Thanks in advance!

Roughly 1 officer per 300 people employed, but only one officer on duty for about 900 people.

ShockUSMC87 says ...

About 2 for every 1000

Is that on duty or employed, and is that at full staffing.
