Posted about 3 years ago How's it going, I'm from Alberta Canada, going to be applying to the city police as soon as I have enough volunteer hours, (from what I hear, you need a lot of hours) So I'm volunteering at a local station here. So far it's looking like this would be a pretty exciting and worthwhile career. Havn't done a ride-along yet, hopefully I can soon though! and what does "bump" mean in all the forums? Would that be like a high-five, or a thumbs up, or a nod or an elbo to the ribs or something? |

| Posted about 3 years ago Welcome from Tennessee. You are pretty much on track in regards to the almighty BUMP. It also keeps the discussion thread active for other members to read. "Service, justice, fundamental fairness-these are the foundational principles in which every police action must be grounded. The nobility of policing demands the noblest of character. "

| Posted about 3 years ago I'd be happy to buy lunch, but by the time I got it mailed out to ya it might not be so fresh! I'm going to apply in Edmonton, it's not a huge city, but I grew up here and I like it. Anyone ever been? |

| Posted about 3 years ago Ya, Alberta's pretty northernly. As far as I know, the closest US cities are Great Falls or Shelby Montana, and it's atleast a 9 or 10 hour drive just to get there from Edmonton from what I remember. 25 hours to san franscisco! Anyways, thanks for all the welcome messages! |
