Posted over 5 years ago Hi there. Well, I'm 27 and live in Southern California. I was born and raised here and have lived here all but the two years I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am currently a full time student at Fullerton College majoring in Criminal Justice and working on my AA. As soon as I get my degree I am off to the academy. I work full time doing admin. during the day and college at night so I am pretty busy the majority of the time. I am wanting to work for a local police department here and really interested in the K9 unit or detectives so we will see where this road takes me. No matter what I end up doing I know I will enjoy it. |

| Posted over 5 years ago lol yeah I'm sorry about that...no I don't think I need another lecture on the Miranda rights and I am sure not going to be giving one....my professors seem to think it is funny to harrass me on it daily. :) |

| Posted over 5 years ago Welcome. Your college background will pay dividends in, among other things, the written/oral communications aspects of the job. After all, for much of the job we're just gun-totting secretaries. Since, in most agencies, K-9 and detective assignments are obtained through a competitive process, your college background may just give you the advantage you need. |
