| Posted over 3 years ago There is an app that is called "Police Logger Plus." If your department requires you to turn in an activity log this is a must. It logs your calls for service from time started to time finished and time consumed. It allows the operator to add notes to the call, and the call type including if medical or fire was called for what ever reason. Check it out. I think it was worth the $1.99! Be Safe! Train like you fight, fight like you train! |

| Posted over 3 years ago Here are some of the apps that I've added to my new iPhone - time will tell how useful they are.... Auto VIN Decoder - returns make, model, year etc for input VIN number Field Contact - photo and field contact details, saved and/or emailed instantly for distribution to colleagues. California Law - all Califonia Codes - instant search (tip - deactivate the codes that you don't use every day to save RAM) Scanner 911 - listen to any local public safety channels that are distributed on the internet. Call2 Police - finds the local PD phone number based on your GPS location Dial Zero - gets you to customer service numbers without going through "Press 1 for ..." "now Press 2 for...." then add Local news and traffic applications - get breaking news. UStream Live - send live video from your iPhone G3s (back to control / Command Center) |

| Posted over 3 years ago I have a couple on my phone put out by the ACLU and attornies. They are pretty much a guide for scumbags to know their rights and or try to get out of certain situations...DUI , tickets, ect. I obviously play for the other team but I like to see if their info is correct and what these ppl might try next. |

| Posted over 3 years ago oh an app that you guys might want to be aware of...I believe its called "Police Tracker"... people drive down the road and see a cop or cops sitting in a certain area. Could be for meal time..could be on the side of the road looking for VC violations. The person gets on the app and pinpoints our location on a map. Other people that log on to the app and see can see where others have pin pointed officers.
If you have an Iphone or an Ipod touch just search "Law Enforcement" in the app store area. They have a lot actually. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Argh! A recent job change and my new boss wants me to change my iPhone for a Blackberry! He just deosn't understand! Not an app. as such - but an interesting demo of what an iPhone can do... (or you can try it from your PC at home) Open safari web browser and go to http://webview.exacq.com/advanced.html Click on "add Server" on the left of the screen, select the first option in the drop down menu "exacqVision hybrid server" and hit "add" Select a screen display at the top - try the 2 x 2 to start (else it will take a while to load) then cluck on the one of the cameras listed in the left hand column. You will be able to view and control the demo cameras at exacq's corporate office, right from the palm (or should I say iPhone) of your hand. We are providing local LE with this access to all but the gaming cameras at our new Restarant Casino. Perhaps you have local businesses who can provide you with this kind of access? |

back in november, or was it september? i started developing a FI iphone app... i already have a bunch of windows mobile app that does citation, fi, accident, dui and tow... yup., all one one... but the iphone is... different... its not feb... and the FI iphone app is... still not done! i made the mistake of splitting up the work to try to get it done faster.... but that backfired., the apps i develop are intended primarily as free use.. so that makes dishing out $$ for development a bit hard.. hopefully the iphone fi will be done this month... or next month.. :) |

| Posted over 3 years ago Not for the iPhone and not necessarily LE, but I came across some shooting apps for my Hero. I downloaded a Mil dot calculator, a ballistics calculator and a long distance range book. Not that I'll ever use the apps in a real world situation (I'll stick with my actual range book), but they're still pretty cool. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago FYI- Just recently found out that Arkansas Criminal and Traffic Code are apps on the iPhone. Haven't used it since I don't have an iPhone, YET but I hear it costs $3.99. I have seen the 911 scanner app and that actually seems a little unsettling since our local PD just went to plain talk for everyday use and now you can get an app for the most popular phone for next to nothing and monitor all PD radio traffic whether analog or digital. I've heard of several people already taking flight because they've heard scanner land in plain talk. Let's go back to codes for everyday use. Plain is good for NIMS!!!! Niels Bouse

| Posted over 2 years ago I tried a bunch of them. The crash ones aren't really geared towards LEOs but drivers involved in a collision. I did make a request to one of the app developers to add some entry points that would help an LEO gather crash info. Not sure if they followed through. The field invest ones I find myself trying to stare at the iphone screen more than I can keep my eye on and off on the suspect so it doesn't make me feel comfortable. The only one I have retained is the NJ Statutes app. Its quick reference and its much easier having it on the iphone than carrying around the books. 2 apps I use a lot though are native to the iphone which are the voice record and the camera. Mainly use these for crash invests. |

| Posted over 1 year ago I know I'm not a LEO yet but I agree with JIMROC about the spanish app. When I interned with the state police, there were several occasions when that would have come in handy. I know basic spanish so I could help a little, but it was still tough. I know there are some apps which you can speak in one language and it will translate it into another. Just my two cents. -Chris |

| Posted over 1 year ago FbF mobileOne is a sample iPhone app, that when combined with an iPhone or an iPod touch and the FbF mobileOne fingerprint accessory, can be made to enroll fingerprints and match against a remote database, including the FBI IAFIS and RISC databases. Fulcrum Biometrics is developing a pilot project program in an effort to work with any law enforcement agency interested in exploring how to use iPhone or iPod touch devices to identify suspects in the field. (Must have already purchased iPhones, iPod touches or iPads, or is looking to do so within the next 2 to 4 months.) |
