My apologies for failing to introduce myself sooner. In truth, you all are to blame because, with the limited time I get to check out the site, it was far more interesting to see the news and read the posting, then to write about myself.

I am a sergeant with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and am serving as an area supervisor in the Highway Patrol Division. My law enforcement experience also includes working as a deputy sheriff in two Arizona counties and serving as the Interim Chief of Police for a small department. My background includes being a recruit training officer, crime scene investigator, collision reconstructionist, and incident commander for events ranging from my district's response to the Bush/Kerry debate (we got all dressed up to sit in a gymnasium for eight hours), to large scale collisions, to a sixty-mile running gun battle near the Mexican border.

I’m a native of Arizona and grew up farming and ranching. There isn’t hardly an outdoor activity I don’t enjoy, although some I’m not particularly good at (I like hunting trips where I sleep in, eat too much, and I hope to get lucky when a deer runs into my camp in an attempt to escape real hunters). I like puppies and long walks on the beach and, if chosen as Miss America I would use my title to……… (I know it’s an old one, but hey, I’m getting old).
