I find it quite Interesting that CNN and Fox News have been reporting this evening that last night, Saturday,Novenber 7, 2009, former Preaseident George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited for several hours with those soldiers injured in the horrific Fort Hood shooting incident.  They did so without fanfare or media coverage.  I think that this speaks volumes about the character of the Bush family and I salute them for their caring and thoughtful gesture!  On a side note it has been reported that President Obama will be attending a service for the dead and wounded at Fort Hood on this coming Tuesday.................guess he has a busy schedule!

I was not aware ot that Ret, I am not the least bit surprised though.  GWB and Laura are not only some of the most honorable Texans I know, but, just the fact they went to FT. Hood  without the media notified in advance for an opportunity to bring themselves into the headlines does speak volumes about their character.   Gov. Rick Perry has been to Ft. Hood as well, and delivered a message to the murdered and wounded.  This shakes my state to the core, again, as it did before when a shooter went off on a rampage in Killeen, Tx, right outside Ft. Hood when my brother was stationed there.  I am glad POTUS Obama will make a speech as well, I am, it just isn't the same though.  Thank you Pres. and Mrs. GW Bush!

I think it was very compassionate of President Bush and his wife Laura to visit the wounded at Fort Hood.  President Bush won my admiration for his participation in National Law Enforcement Memorial ceremonies to honor our fallen officers.  He spent time with the families as well.  I was very disappointed that President Obama did not follow his example this past  May and instead hosted the Phillies at the White House during the time of the ceremony to honor the 2008 fallen officers.

Yup. I didn't always agree with Bush's decisions and policies but I never doubted his commitment to this country, to the military, his charactor, or his honor.

God bless the Bush family.  I believe this country will one day realize how much they miss having a caring person in the White House.

I was blessed to have met President George H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush.  Both men left me with the impression that they were truly king and cared about people.  I was honored to have met President Reagan and was so awed I remember little of it, other than him calling me son.

I regret that our country has a few years to wait before having the opportunity to have another President that honestly cares for and loves this country.

They truly are wonderful people... I really miss former President George W. Bush in office.  Him and Mrs. Bush really care for the morality of the people in this country and abroad.  I think he was more committed to this country than our current President... I mean, damn, he can't even make a decision about the war in Afghanistan, sending more troops or not.  He needs to listen to what the General is saying he needs for the war.  Either that or get our troops out of there.
