I'm in need of some help.....I've been tasked to put together a briefing for my squadron commander about why our base needs a Emergency Service Team. I'm going through and documenting several incidents that occurred on military installations stateside. Here's what I got so far:

- Fort Hood 5 Nov 2009

- Eglin AFB Range Complex 17 Mar 09

- Fort Dix 7 May 07

I need a few more to fill this in and to give more examples to those I have to present this to. Please let me know. Thanks....

SFS-

In Jun 1996 there was a shooting at Ft bragg involving a lone soldier (KREUTZER) setting in the woodline across the street from a Division formation with a .22 cal rifle.  He shot 20 Soldiers (killed one and injured 19).

Just my two cents......

I would not limit your proposal to just 'on base' incidents.  As we are made painfully aware there are active shooters in every society.  We  have been fortunate that there have not been more of these incidents on installations world wide.  Soldiers have access to weapons (if even just for training) and it takes next to nothing to buy ammo at your local store.  There is the caliber of person (most) that are soldiers that prevent this situation from happening, but as we saw this week: we do not know who will lash out in this selfish manner.  Military installations are a community like any other - you might think of bringing in some other situations into your briefing.

SBriggs,

I plan on using crime in our local area as well, but that's easier to get information about that incidents on a military installation. Thanks, keep it coming.
