I suppose you have heard by now about the shootings at Ft Hood!? 

As you can imagine, Yes, thats why I am still up at the office... and as you know we have to deal with contingencies as necessary when these incidents happen no matter where we are posted worldwide.. 

While watching the reporting on CNN infuriates me because they have TOO many media ON the Post already and news cameras are all over the post filming and live film rolling all over the Post showing active troop areas in DETAIL and discussing the locations and distances of Post facilities in detail using a satellite overview of the base! 

12 Dead and 31 wounded.  One shooter dead and two in custody, so far they are saying soldiers in uniform... no confirmation if they are actual soldiers and what drove the perps to make the attack.  this is similar to what happened at Ft Dix 3 years ago, but those attackers were stopped before they got on Post.

Oh God, not again.........I remember in the 90's there was a McDonalds right next to Ft. Hood someone went in there and killed many people.  My brother was stationed there, he still has friends there, he was in communications...........

Oh God, I am soo very sorry...........and of course, all of those affected by this, God hold you all tight.  For the KIA,  God Bless you, he will usher you to the front of the line. 

Do you know anything about the communications area?  I know Ft. Hood is Cavalry, but, they have a pretty intelligent communications dept.( I never could go to his work, it was so classified, he couldn't even talk about it)   I hope they are OK.....how tragic, horror upon horror.  I just heard it on the evening news, the media is so messed up, they are saying 7 confirmed dead.  Be safe friend!

Haven't seen it, maybe I will go look, this is the first I have heard of it.........with the exception of the evening news.

I guess it really doesn't matter but I'm curious about the dead shooter. They ave reported that he had converted to Islam. So I'm wondering if Hasan was his adopted name (i.e., Cassius CLay became Muhammed Ali). Anybody heard?

It made the evening news here in town. Just about everyone here was on pins and needles as it was happening because of our proximity to Ft. Bliss.

This man of Islam, who murdered 13 people, and wounded 30......of which we hope all survive..........will be found "insane" at the time of the shootings, and spend the rest of his life in a military Psych ward.............ah, justice is blind?  This Major, who is a Psychiatrist, is now in SA, at one of only two level 1 trauma centers here in SA.  He is at Brooks Army Medical Center, and due to the medical professionalism, he will no doubt survive.  There are always problems in everyone's lives, but, I am so tired of these people who want to be taken out by  "suicide by cop".......he had a .357, he knew exactly where to place it before firing on himself to die, but, he wanted to take out as many people  as he could...........I am sorry he is a MD, makes people raise their eyebrows a a bit, I am sure........but, there are bad apples in every profession.

My sympathy to his victims and their families, RIP............

I also pray the wounded gain strength and survive this horrible incident, tragic.

The facts are coming out relatively quickly in the local news here in TX.........the National news has many events on this case as well.  It is always important to let the real story  unravel, as many of them have already.   In the primary chaos, the shooter was reported fatally wounded, which we all know now is not true.  He will survive, but I doubt many facts will come from the actual shooter himself.

A major part of the blame falls without country's desire to be politically correct.  To do nothing that will hurt the feelings or lower the self esteem of anybody (other than conservative Christians).  This whack job was known for his support of murderous suicide bombers but nobody would do anything because of his religous beliefs.

Well,  Let me tell YA'll...

not the one that recruits and vets, but one who deals with the aftermath and intecessary of varied forms of national defense on the fronlines and CONUS...

FOR DECADES the US military has allowed Non-US persons & foreign born to gain citizenship and first generation Americans to enlist and become officers... overall its a good idea, most are good troops and WANT what they could never have in their home country...

BUT, there are far too many falling thru the cracks, WHO ARE Cracked!  Clearances not thoroughly vetted and followed...

It will be interesting to see what CID, FBI & HLS will come up with in their investigations...

It makes my ILL to see a Navy commercial celebrating "diversity" as their strength... BS!!
