Is an Inconclusive Polygraph the end?

Posted 23 days ago I just took my Polygraph this morning and it turned out an inconclusive result. He told me that my breathing wasn't natural and asked if I had read anything about trying to beat the exam. I told him absolutely not and that I was compltely truthful, the problem I felt was that when he told me all of the things I should not do I became preoccupied with them and became even more nervous. After the first round of questions he mentioned that my breathing was short and inconsistent. I told him I had no idea and that the only logical explanation was that I was focusing on my breathing to relax myself. Also I found that I was trying to keep from taking deep breaths or anything that might mess it up. I'm afraid this has ruined my chances with my department of choice though. I was told that this only means they will look at me harder now but I am still worried. Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated! |

| Posted 23 days ago Some places wont DQ you based solely on poly results, but alot will. More than likely they will call you back for another one. The key is to not think about it, cause when u think about ur breathing during a poly, you will munipulate it. There is a member here by the name of Retleo, who is an expert on polygraphs and was an examiner for 16 years, if ur lucky he may grace u with his presence here in this thread. I will tell u this much, my above stated info was purely from my expierence and isnt something u should rely on. I was told by Retleo and it has proved true, to not listen to anyone about the poly except someone who knows them inside out, so like I said, he may come in here and give you some insight, but if I were you I would go post an introduction and read the TOUs, they tend to respond more when u do that. The only thing you have to do is die. |
