| Posted 22 days ago Ok Boys, I'm here. Yeah, I've been really busy here lately, haven't trained at all for a week or so. Had a death in my girlfriends family so we've been dealing with that. Funeral today, so the training will continue tomorrow. Just went out and picked up a "Flip UltraHD video camera." You can take up to 2 hrs of HD video AND make still shots from the footage. It will be my camera/video recorder. I'm almost done buying stuff. The last thing I need is a small duffel bag to distribute the weight of my "stuff." I don't think I can get all of my mess into my carry-on backpack. Not really taking much with me to Va., but I think I'll need that little extra room. Hey...have ya'll heard of the 5.11 knee pad inserts? I just got a pair for $10. They fit inside the knee pockets inside the pants. I've owned 5.11's for years and never knew there were insert pockets. Anyhoo, should help a bit on the range, plus they're super lightweight. C'mon 12/5!!!!!! Dang ya'll....we're NEXT! This gonna' be GREAT! Stay safe, Bill |

| Posted 22 days ago Checking in with the new board. Still haven't heard about the new contract that "might" include me. Kay seems to think I will be able to go to Iraq on the new contract, but won't make any promises. I've been working out, but not as hard as I should be. I did buy a weighted vest at Walmart. Stay safe, Bill |

| Posted 22 days ago Hey All! jerry p just checking in from GA. Well here's to an AWESOME HARVEST where none of us are allowed to wither on the vine! To all you lucky SOB's in VA. Kick butt and take names and leave no one behind! As far as the forecast in VA for 5 December; I recall some very crisp mornings (frost and even ice) when I was up that way in the 70's for sniper training at Quantico & Ft. Meade Md. It was pretty cool on the range until about lunchtime ... then we took off the first layer if the sun was out and not raining. Keep the faith and keep praying for all the troops in the sandbox! hope to be there with you all in just over a month! Until then ... AIRBORNE!!! |

| Posted 22 days ago Okay, I have to vent for a bit, I was all set to o to the 10/31 class, busted my butt to get things in and taken care of, had taken leave from work, and prepped all of my gear for turn in. Left an LOR with my LT to turn in for me if all went as planned. I got a pone call from my recruiter late Monday afternoon telling me that there was a problem with my medical, and that they needed my DR's phone number to call him. Since then, nothing. They haven't called my DR, haven't called me. I have gotten nothing but voicemail from everyone, including my recruiter. She did answer one time, and suggested that "if things don't work out, try PMC.com. My entire life was on pause for these folks, and I get no calls, no explanation, nothing. If they decided to pull me from the roster for the 10/31 class, a phone call, e-mail, h&ll, even a smoke signal would have been appropriate. Up until now, I have had the utmost faith in Dyncorp in general, and my recruiter in particular. But that little bit of drama was uncalled for, nd completely unprofessional. I am hanging, don't know if I am out of the process all together, or just pushed back to another class. Three weeks ago, they called me and offered to fly me to Dallas to have my medical done by their DR's if it would get me into the 10/10 class. Now no one will answer my phone calls. With all that being said, I still want to go, and to go with this company. I believe in the mission, and I have friends already over there. I am just shocked that I was left in the dark like that. I hope it gets etter. This is my first butt burner from them, and I know that it has happened to alot of yu guys already. Did they just leave you hanging, or did they tell yu beforehand that you were being pushed back? Keeping the Faith (but cussing) Rich "Sic Vis Pacem, Para Bellum!" |

| Posted 22 days ago So, am I understanding this correctly: I did the "apply now" link on police mission site and it will be a couple months before I'm contacted?? If so, gives me time to get a new "raised seal" birth certif. and get to work on getting my passport. Also posted my resume for O level Ordnanceman with their F/A-18 program in Kuwait. |

| Posted 22 days ago Morning all, I'm here with you but not for the next class, more like March (i hope). I did get some very good news as since ,y old recrutier left me and a couple other people in the lurch. a new recruiter called me and he is VERY motivated and helpful. The guys is already giving me a lot of confidence and I'm glad to have been assigned to him. he did tell me that there is really no word on the DOD contract but he thinks he might know something solid by January when I start all my processing. It really sounds more like a rumor than anything else at this point unless a very high up leaked a little info way to soon. Rooney- Man I'm sorry to hear all that stuff, a lot of things have made me scratch my head the last few months but like you said, this is the company I want so damn the torpedoes! Wade- Dyn should contact you by phone on Monday as I was as I was called the very next day after I applied. The process may take forever for the SF but Dny tries to get all theor own stuff back in 30 days.

| Posted 22 days ago Damn Rich. Well maby they know you and I are neighbors and train together so they are gonna put you in my March class. I know you wanted to be there for the 10/31. I had to call myself on 10/20 to have them tell me that my sf85 came back on the 9th of October. You'd think I would have got an e-mail or something. I think that they are in over their heads on getting peolpe qualified. It will work out my Brother! Just more track time for us. Navy Gator1

| Posted 22 days ago Yeah, I thought about that. I had gotten the runs down to 2:15 with weight and stair on the UF track. I am just aggravated at the sudden mushroom treatment. Not cool, and certainly unexpected. Rich "Sic Vis Pacem, Para Bellum!" |

| Posted 22 days ago Hello all. Just reading posts from navygator and gunnerside and had something similar happen to me. I have been in the process since August. I have had everything complete since 08/25. I tried calling my recruiter because I had not heard from him in a little while. The phone number extention said was not valid so I shot him an email. Got that kicked back saying email not valid. So i just figured the guy quit or they fired him what ever, called the girl that was helping me with EQUIP and she hooked me up. A "new" recruiter called me said he "found" my file and started asking for all my paperwork. Advised him that it had all been turned in weeks ago. He hesitated for a few minutes and said "oh yeas I found it here". Kinda freaked me out for a second. He said we were right on track. 2 WEEKS go by and I get an email, from my OLD recruiter, that says if he did not hear from me by Monday Dyncorp was going to close my employee process!! WTH?!! I called this guy like 100 times THAT day and he finally answered his phone. I have been doing everything by the book and turning in my paperwork as asked. I think that Dyncorp is so spread out and they do not communicate with the other departments. So now I got the email about 12/5 PAST. I am going to call AND email my recruiter at least once a week until 12/5 class!....just to be sure. |

I'm wondering how that PT test and psych is going for all.....hopefully we'll all hear something soon. Anybody have any idea how many people are in the current class? |

| Posted 22 days ago Question about leave- When you take your first leave, does it have to be the one to come home or can it be your regional trip first? Do you pretty much have free choice to do what you like when planning or is there some sort of company policy about how you use the time? |

| Posted 22 days ago Ok, our class presenters could not make it to the class today so we went back to the hotel and waited for the doctors to call us for the evaluation. It wasn't bad at all. Unfortunately they do not tell you how you did, so........I guess I will find out in a couple days. Timed run and obstacle course tomorrow. I'll let you know. I've met a number of the others that have been posting, but their names will be held to protect the inocent. |

| Posted 22 days ago After reading these last posts I am even more grateful for my recruiter she has been on the ball with everything even called me last week to make sure I was prepared to leave for the 12-5 class and to let me know that if my SF didnt return in time I would be in the 1-10 class. Glad to know our brothers and sisters in Virginia are doing well look forward to hearing their updates as they go. Chris J |

| Posted 22 days ago I hope that everybody in Va. is doing well and best of luck to you. I'm glad to see that you are giving us good updates...keep them coming. I never got contacted on Friday about going or not going. Have not received an e-mail officially moving me to 12-5. Last I heard was thursday that my sf85 was not back, 90 days now I think. I was told that they have no contacts at DOS and are actually not allowed to contact them. sure would be nice to know something. Brandon if your in the top twenty I must be in the top 5-10 % for longest. Had to unpack uniforms and gear again to prepare for another month at work. At least I'll get my longevity check now!! | Posted 22 days ago Wow, that was an excellent post by the members of the 10/31 class. Thanks for the heads up on everything and keep the info coming. Keep up the hard work and we're all behind you as much as we can be sitting at home. But that will all change when we start working together on the other side of the pond. We're all rooting for ya!

| Posted 22 days ago I've been going through the old posts and making a list of things to bring. I've got a question for those "in country". What do you wish you brought that you didn't bring, and what did you bring that you wish you didn't? I know, PACK LIGHT! besides that, what advice do you have for the things you like and dislike that you carried half way around the world?
