For those who have seen my posts and responded,You may have noticed that I have not been on policeLink for a long time. I miss the folks that I used to Chat with,I learned a lot in my time here,(including how to properly use a keyboard!) And,As always, Was honored to be in the company of our nation's L-E community. Then I made a comment that I believe was taken out of context. I stated that I was very happy with my proffession and "Didn't want to be a cop when I grow up". This,In no way was meant to be disrespectful or demeaning to the L_E-community!Soon after,I couldn"t get anyone to answer my posts,Or iclude me in any open descussion. Then,More than once, The statement was made that Policelink was only for folks who were cops or wanted to be cops.If this is true,Then I am truly sorry,But when I first joined Policelink,It was stated that you folks welcomed those of us that support this nation"s L-e community,And that I surely do.If I am someone who is not welcome on this site,Would someone clear this upfor me? Policelink has become one of the very good things in my life,And those who have called me friend have meant a lot,But I really do not want to intrude if I"m not supposed to be here. Anyway,You all will ALWAYS be in my thaughts and prayers. God bless you and keep each of you from harm,

Respectfully,  Jim.

PL is a public website.  There are threads that are restricted for LE only to post in.  If a non Leo posts in a Leo only thread, you will usually be told about it right away by other Leo's.  Read the Terms of Use agreement at the bottom of the page, and it will help you understand how the site works.

JIMROC is correct - this is a public website.  I am not a Leo but have been able to post with no issues at all - in threads that are open to non-LEO.  In your posts, if there is something taken out of context then clarify, if people aren't responding so be it.  There are numerous threads that are open for participation.

I hardly set policy here but from what I understand, PL is a public website and all are welcome here. From what I have seen, most of the folks here don't really "blackball" people like you have described for something so minor as saying you "Didn't want to be a cop when I grow up."

Sometimes people may not want to post about what you posted about. You're lack of replys might be completely unrelated to your comment. I don't know. My advice would be to let it go (if you can) and keep up your support and participation. When a person shows interest in others and shows them respect the others will usually notice. When a person contributes to other people's posts...folks will usually notice and try to contribute back. That is my experience with internet forums. Sorry you feel you got snubbed before. Hope it doesn't keep you down!

EDIT: Oh, and your post could use a little formatting to make it easier to read. I had a little trouble following and understanding your original post. I got the general idea (obviously) but I think you would benefit from taking time to read over and fix your post to make it easier to follow. That is not to say that I am the gold standard when it comes to post coherency, but I do try to make my posts readable.

From what I have seen on PL, there aren't very many bashful people when it comes to letting you know that you ticked them off.  Generally when a post is found offensive there are going to be plenty of replies to let you know about it.  Maybe nobody had anything to add to yours.  I proof read everything I post in an attempt to not insult anybody or post anything that can be read as being negative to this great profession.  Doesn't always workout that way but I try.

No worries.  I welcome interaction with non-LEOs.  I wish there were more supporters like yourself out there.  Don't take posts which do not recieve responses too personal, I have that happen often, and I have been an LEO for more of my life than I haven't.  Hang in there and enjoy the site.  There are a few who are very sensitive about the LEO thing, but just like "bad cop news", you shouldn't judge all by the actions of the few.
