Posted almost 6 years ago Rest In Peace, Brother. Officer Russel Timoshenko, the young police officer shot Monday during a traffic stop in Brooklyn, has died. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Saturday evening that Timoshenko passed at the Kings County Hospital surrounded by family and members of the 71st Precinct. "He made the ultimate sacrifice with unflinching sacrifice to do it; we are more committed than ever to the prosecution of the individuals responsible for his death,” said Kelly. Kelly said Timoshenko passed away on his own; he had been paralyzed, suffered brain swelling, and was unable to breathe on his own since the shooting. Timoshenko, 23, and his partner Herman Yan pulled over a BMW SUV early Monday morning under the suspicion that it was stolen. Prosecutors say Dexter Bostic, 34, shot Timoshenko in the face while Robert Ellis, 34, shot Yan in the chest and the arm. Yan, who was saved by his police vest, was released earlier this week from the hospital. Prosecutors believe a third suspect, 29-year-old Lee Woods, was driving the SUV at the time of the shooting. Three guns were found at the scene. Police say the one allegedly used by Bostic had also been used in a recent drive-by shooting in Queens. Ellis and Bostic were arraigned on several charges including attempted murder, assault on a police officer, and weapons possession Friday. Neither suspect entered a plea; however, Ellis' attorney claimed that his client did not fire any shots. His attorney also said that Ellis was the driver and Bostic was in the passenger seat. Both were extradited Thursday from Pennsylvania, where they had been captured after a four-day manhunt that stretched from Brooklyn to the Poconos. Woods was charged Wednesday. Kelly said the prosecution is already filing paperwork to increase the charges in response to Timoshenko's death. All three suspects were ordered to be held without bail. |

It's one of the most liberal states in the country, after Cal, Mass & Vermont. gh6912.......You guys in Texas have the right idea. I'd bring these three savages down there myself if I could! |

| Posted almost 6 years ago Officer Timoshenko, Rest in Peace. You were a valiant warrior until the end. Our prayers are with your family. Excellent old fashioned police work got these punks apprehended quickly. Thank You to the NYPD, Pennsylvania State Police, U.S. Marshalls and all other agencies that worked so hard to apprehend the two runaway cowards. To all members of the NYPD, our thoughts and prayers are with you. To all the arresting officers, you showed great restraint in apprehending these individuals. You did not let your emotions get the best of you. I am sure that I would not have had that self control. The slightest flinch, and justice would have been served. That is why I am a Police supporter, and not a Police Officer. God Bless the NYPD in their time of grief. And God Bless all of our Brave Police Officers, who so valiantly protect and serve us daily.

| Posted almost 6 years ago The last execution in NY was in 1976. A couple of years ago it was abolished because the law wasn't written in a certain way. Now it's in limbo. Either way, the three mopes in this case should be hung by their balls. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago O wait...They dont have any balls. They are the scum of society. They should be tied to a cactus and have flesh eating ants poured all over them. Sorry if that was a bit grousm. I just cant stand them. You should hear what I want to do to the man who fately shot Dallas Police Senior Corporal Nix EOW: 3-23-07 But he's gonna get the deth penelty. I hope those a$$'s all rot in hell!!! |

| Posted almost 6 years ago I think hanging by the balls would be too easy. They should first be put into a room with the family for an hour, then in a room of police officers for an hour, then stood in front of a cannon, on a timer unbeknownst to them, let them sweat and beg, and then boom, blow their fucking heads right off their shoulders. But now that I think about it, none of that would even be appropriate punishment. |
