Posted 3 months ago In my job as a security officer I have had many experiences with the state troopers and police officers in the area that assist the mall where I work at. The local PD is nice to us but the troopers otherwise and other outerlining city police departments are very rude and de meaning. Why would this be I am a calm person to deal with and this is a shock to me on how they have treated me as a security officer and as a civilin out of uniform. |

| Posted 3 months ago Sounds to me like its just classic difference of opinion between cops and security. There is not really a good reason for the treatment but it has existed for so long that people just fall into it. There is a lot of training and a lot of hardship regarding police work, Ralph is right, and whether or not you know it or not, they will assume you don't and use that against you. |

| Posted 2 months ago Hey rescue101 don't take it personal. Some cops have encounters with security guards who just interfere with an investigation instead of helping with it so it gives a cop the wrong impression of all. With this profession once a cop lables one person a moron its unfortunate all get the same. Where I work in Jersey CIty we have 3 malls and deal with numerous security guards who can be great cops if they wanted to join the force. Some cops just forget they are human when they pin that badge on their chest and forget their compassion at home. Continue doing your job and remember not all cops are jerks just a selected few. |

Your first post should've been an introduction being here since Jan and lurking you should have known that. You could not be more wrong. You have yourself labeled cops. Something you have accused cops of doing to security. You really should have thought out your post better. Any issues I may have with security don't come from an experience with one security officer it comes from many. I know not all security officers right poor reports. I know not all security officers have a cop complex. It is just that many of the security officers I have to deal with are that way. I give every security officer I come into contact with a chance to prove they don't fit the stereotype. Every officer I know even the few that don't like security as a rule gives them a chance. It's whining such as this thread and the many others like that is not helping the image of security any. Really folks try and search the forums before posting the same old topic.

This is what I could get from google translator.... I ivstigador police in sao paulo, Brazil 21 years and that he also happens here, and I believe the error occurs on both sides because alaguns to ignore the security guards find them less common, and some security tamb'rm try to act beyond they are responsible for the often disturbing our work. What we have is a common sense and mutual respect, after all we are on the same side. tank's
