Posted over 3 years ago Missouri POST requires 16hrs per month minimum, but you can work as much as you want, and it is always appreciated in our department. Go out today and preach the gospel, and if you must, use words. St. Francis of Assisi

Posted almost 3 years ago wow jag. You must work for a big city. We barely have 8 events a year total in the city I work for. We are required 8 for now. I used to work for a city that was requiring us 32 hours with scheduled shifts. That department has gone under say...construction...thankfully the new chief and other administator is very good and I would go back and work for them in a heart beat. Thanks for the replys. Right now we are battling the City councle on some stuff about what powers reserves do have when it comes to Texas. They seem to be misinformed about what powers we carry. I think that mixed with bad Politicing on some others end is not making it easy. I do hope i can help it become a better program very soon.

Posted almost 3 years ago J2000, sorry to take so long.... No, we are a small town in Arkansas. As best as I can tell there only two months a year that we have less that two events scheduled. Most are football, basketball games and other small town events. Some of the big ones like County Fair and a local event will run for 2-4 days and we will have officers working 6 to 8 hours per day, but we break them down into 4 hour shifts. Looking at my May time sheet, I worked "Relay for Life", traffic control for two accidents, two different graduations and area control for storm damage clean up, and I was thinking it was a slow month.

Posted over 2 years ago We are required to do 16 hours a month, which includes our four hour monthly training session. I try to work three 10 hour shifts each month in addition to the training session, and take a week of leave from my military job to attend an annual 40-hour in-service with the regular officers. We don't have a lot of special events. Several parades at Christmas, and maybe a half-dozen other events during the year. Crime scene security details obviously are not prescheduled nor regular. I mostly do solo patrol work.

Posted over 2 years ago I just made up the unit assignment schedule for Jan. and Feb. We have seven basket games to cover each month. After that it looks like we will have only two to three events until May. For a small town we stay busy. Looking at the last couple of months time sheets I would say the average man-hours runs about 16-24 hours per month

Posted over 1 year ago We only have to do 40 hours per quarter. But everyone does way more then that. You wouldn't go in there for a million bucks...A Cop does it for less...A Reserve does it for free....

Posted about 1 year ago Required to do 20 hours a month or 60 hours in a quater. So if miss a few one month you can make it up the next. I usually like to put in as much hours as possible when I do go out to work. I've pulled a 20 hr shift once. Got a lot of hours that month lol!! You wouldn't go in there for a million bucks...A Cop does it for less...A Reserve does it for free....
