How do they grade a police interview?  I just had my interview yesterday and I think I did really well on most of the questions, but I think I was a bonehead on a couple.  Do they grade you overall? Or if you say the wrong thing your out etc...

My name is Jay and I am currently applying to become a police officer in the kc area.  I have a B.S in Business Administration, and am looking for a career change.  I have applied at 3 different department in the kc area, and just had my first oral board yesterday.  I went on a ride-along with the department a few days before the test, and have a ride-along for monday with my test for merriam,ks wednesday.  My philosophy is that I will do my best in ever part of the process, and if I'm not selected, I look at it as a great learning experience.  BUT I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

Thats a little background, and I am here just looking for advice, and searching past posts.    Thanks, Jay

Every dept is different. Most have some sort of grading scale, but it is really subjective as well, depending on who's on the oral board. For instance, in my area, some departments use a panel of police admin, some use a citizen panel, some use a panel of police personnel from each level, etc. It might be of benefit to call the department and find out how they do it, when you apply or during the application process.
