Hi everyone,

I am new to this site, and actually found it while trying to find answers. My mother, a retired Denver Police Detective, passed away on August 3rd, after a long battle with leukemia. We will be laying her to rest very soon, and would like to have some ideas on bible verses that may be appropriate for those who served in the line of duty. Thank you in advance for your help---beverlyanneo

My deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Mother. I'm sure she was a great detective and loved by her fellow brother & sister officers. One of my favorite Bible verses is Joshua 1:9. It is very appropriate for law enforcement as it talks about being strong in the Lord and trusting in Him. God bless you and your family during this very sad time. Always know that when one of us goes down, all of our brothers & sisters in law enforcement, mourn with you.

I like my sig its Romans 13:4

Don't if it's what you're looking for, but I like it.

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Exodus 21:24-25 - Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Matthew 5:9 - “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

Isaiah 6:8 - And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
