Ofcr. Lezaun joined the Guardia Civil August 2008 and this was his first day on the job, following recovery from a traffic accident which left him in a coma
The bomb was attached to the underside of the Patrol vehicle and the incident occurred shortly after 2pm.
Mallorca is one of Europe's main tourist destinations. There were an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 British subjects there at the time.
