That's exactly what I recommend, Sarge, an intelligent and nonsensical retort from the one posted about.  Something like, "I appreciate the sordid compliment, but I'm not that type of person".  I've seen alot of the "Sexy eyes", "Absolutely sexy" comments on girls pics that are just headshots or pics hanging out in a scenic locale.  I've even seen some on a pic where a lady was swimming with her kids.  They still persisted.  The investigator and *ahem* gentleman in me just can't take those. 

  Look, I know I'm a adult goofball, but here is some advise to the posters, only play with your friends.  People who you know either don't mind, or ask for such things.  And I recommend doing it privately.  I know it's old news, but it is an affront to pride and respect.  Speeding has been around since highways were built, but we still write tickets.

There is far too much of the Facebook/MySpace mentality around here lately, and the photos section is a prime example of that.  If it isn't the Bunnies posting suggestive "look at me" pictures then it is the lecherous males who leave the tasteless idiotic remarks.............follow TheSarge's advice and let's all try to be a bit more LE Commumity aware around here.  I think that far too often we get too comfortable and complacent with what we post on PoliceLink.  We forget that it is not just a LEO audience and as we all know, there are a lot of people out there who have access to the site that are not fans or friends of the LEO Community.

As another aside, it is worth reminding people that if you are looking to get a job within the LEO Community then you, too, should be VERY CAREFUL as to what you post, not just here at PL but anywhere on the internet.  While the "look at me bathing suit pictures" or the "look at me getting wasted/drunk", or the "look at me with playing with the big gun" pictures might appear to be harmless fun to you they do say a lot about your character and your thought process for potential LE Agencies doing backgrounds (oh yes, we do check these sites and Google your name too, to see what you are up to on-line).  These types of pictures can knock you right out of the potential hiring box.

As TheSarge has already pointed out, this stuff has been discussed at length here in the past, some will learn from it, others will continue the juvenile and lascivious behavior and get agitated or aggressive if you point it out to them.  That too tells volumes about their character and their mentality.  We are better than that and need to start acting like it.

You guys have given me an idea: It's not mine but one that you guys created while having this discussion. I think the seed idea goes to Rek with his comment '...only play with your Friends...'.

Why don't we try this or morph it into something productive.

When you post something on a photo, for instance, why don't you preface it with a "From your friend ..." and then make your comment. That way anyone who casually reads it will see that even though it may be a little edgey in content, it comes from a friend with maybe a tongue-on-cheek meaning.  Any similar comment from a non-friend would not be welcome and would be removed.

Additionally, everyone ought to set their profile to have their photos and albums only viewable by the people in their Friends List.

I dunno,..... waddy'all think ?

Still we need to be professional and the TOU would be in effect. But when a friend back-slaps and butt-scratches ya, it's all in good fun,..... so the onlooker needs to know. The lurker or leerer (sp?) or the voyeur needs to slip away back to their cave and stay out.

I agree! It can be difficult when you get comments on simply a FACE photo.  It seems to me, if you are even the slightest bit attractive, that is all someone really needs. I have seen the ones wtih women with their children or standing with their spouses, getting hit on, too. It isn't just the more provocative photos.  I have already started deleting people and will continue until I am convinced, the only people on my list are friends. 

As well as pretty much everything that has been said on page 2 thus far.

I'll BUMP the idea behind this one... Although I don't see where the bunnies that are WANTING salacious comments are going to bother with this, nor those that are posting the comments.

It was said earlier that this problem has been around for awhile and I don't imagine that it's going to go away because one group of good and conscientious people would like for it to....

I think there are half a dozen or more solutions to this, but the only ones that are going to work are the ideas like Splash and Hammer mentioned.. if you don't like the comments someone is leaving, delete them from your friends list and keep your pics private. As for the rest of them, I guess it's just a "stuck-with-it" kind of thing.

So there's my two cents... sheesh, if I keep giving it to y'all, I'm going to be broke soon!
