Anyone have any good to great ideas for storeage of my patches? Need something better than plastic bins, unless thats the best I can do. I need something affordable and magical if its not to much to ask. Any fullproof ideas.

I had the same issue, what to do with my patches?

My wife got on ebay and purchased a CD/DVD binder that holds like 500+ with a zipper around the outside.  (so they don't fall out)  I was not so sure about it at first but, it has worked out well and there is only a hand full of patches that are too big to fit.  It is great for going to shows, I have acouple of them now one for traders, one for my home state and one for out of staters and plan to get a few morehope this helps ( oh yea they are cheap 500+ binder was like $20 + S-H)

I have all so used large picture frames and glued them to the back but they are hard to move around and I ran out of wall space.

That is the best idea yet. Of course its the only idea I have gotten. I had thought about it before but I was like you, a doubter, but I will go to Walley World tonight and get the biggeest one they got and try it out. I guess I just needed a shove. Thanks for taking the time to share your idea. You truly are badboz. Any thing I can do for you let me know.

Good deal, Im glad it works for you.  They come in handy if you go to a show, they are a lot better than luging around that tub like I used to do.  Do you have any Missouri Patches you want to trade? I only collect patches from Missouri unless I have been there.  thanks   Here is a link to my personal collection and my traders http://photobucket.com/JAWJames

wvinsc,

I store all my patches in a lateral filing cabinet.  It is quite large, but the storage capabilities is quite good.  I use hanging file folder stapled the sides to make a pocket out of it.  This works great as I can store all my state patches, minus MN patches, in one drawer and it looks great, not to mention organized!!  I also like this because I can lock the cabinet, and this thing is HEAVY!

For my MN patches, I put them in these things call "red-ropes" they are like an an acordian folder, but can hold many more patches.  I use around seven of them to hold my 1500 MN patches.   This works well, but wish I had a better way of organizing the MN stuff.

Thats all I got, if you need photos or anything, just send me a note.

I am completely sold on the CD notebook style holders. easy to carry, amlost every patch I had fit in them. Indiana state police, Virginia SP, and one of my NYPD ESU patches stick out a little. I bought 2 off ebay that hold 520 each. I am very pleased. Keeps them flat, no pinning or stabling. They are easy to look at and transport.

I just throw mine in a plastic tub, I did the three ring binder with the plastic sleeve, but you had to stick the patches to  notebook paper. To many issues.  I may try the cd holders from wally world.

I use loose leaf binders and place a white sheet of paper encased in a clear plastic cover. I have room for four patches usually on each page, front and back. They are held in place by double sided tape and it works great keeping the patches clean and unmarked. I have ten folders that are divided up into a couple of Florida, Ga, SC, Federal/State/Motors, non-US, and four for the other states. They are marked and I try to keep them in some type of order so they are easily viewed.

WVINSC I will be in town Thursday to attend the monthly Breakfast at Tommy's Ham House for retired and current LEOs from our two agencies. It's at 8am if you would like to come.

I take the ziplock bag approach then label the bag and put them in a plastic bin.

I need to find a better way for my 4,000 patches.
