Posted almost 4 years ago Just a funny topic. What nickname do you call your partner that is team specific? My dog's name is Brit, but I call him "Buddy Bear". I get some funny looks when we are looking for drugs from some people. I never cared about them though. I'm the guy with the bad ass dog. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago LOL Those are cute names for Law Officers. I have not decided yet on what area of Law Enforcement I want to go into to after I graduate. I would love at some point to work with a K-9 unit. Being around raising and training dogs all my life makes me particularly fond of the K-9 officer teams. They are my heroes. To see you have pet names for your K-9 partners is really awesome. I do the same with my dogs giving them pet names rather than using their actual names(even though they are just civilians). I have a particular JRT who's named Hank (after Hank Williams) he only knows his name as "The Tank" just because he is an immovable couch potato. For such a small dog he seems to weigh a ton particularly when you happen to want to sit where he has taken up his position. A sapper with a well placed satchel couldn't move this little guy. I can imagine the funny looks both of you get with those pet names for your partners! I would love to see the looks you both get : ) |

| Posted almost 4 years ago My wife used to call my first dog, Thunder by the nickname "Boo Boo." I think it was to show everyone that even tho he was a street dog, he was "her" little baby...It follows now that my current dog, Deuce goes sometimes by "Baby Boo" even though I usually just call him "D." Just don't tell the guys.... |

| Posted almost 4 years ago His name is "Nitro", but I can't put what I call him most of the time in this forum! Just kidding. He does drive me nuts sometimes, though. Big difference between a Mal and Shepard, and I'll leave it at that! |

| Posted almost 4 years ago "Cowboy's" nickname was "Cowdog". Loved to eat grass. The name wasn't so bad it was all the comments he used to get wearing his bandana. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago My partner's name is Biaky (don't ask me what that means, he's from Holland). The kids at a local school had a contest to give Biaky a pseudo (nick) name. I found out during a presentation at a local grocery store sponsored by Milkbone (Canine Heroes Program). The kids named him Krypto (Superman's dog). Don't really call him that, but other Officers keep reminding me. As for what I call him, Buddy and some other nasty things that shouldn't get printed. | Posted almost 4 years ago My K-9's name is "Arras" but we lovingly refer to him as "Crazy Eyes" because he has one that does it's own thing sometimes. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. - Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) |

I don't own A PSD, but I have a Foster and a "Fur" ever Dog, so I figured I'd chime in. The two K9's I have are great Social, human friendly and Kid tested Dogs. The American Staffordshire Terrier/APBT K9 Name is Romeo, but dubbed Romee My Homee (fits his sissy persona) He's a Fav with the Ladies. The La Chon(Lhasa Apso/Bichon Frise hybrid mutt) is officialy named Isabella, but we call her Izzy or Izzy the Narcoleptic Dog. What doesn't kill me had better start running! |

| Posted about 1 year ago Roadhog, because he can't drive in one lane while looking around. Had another partner that I called Wee-Wee, but I won't say why. Even ordered him a new name tag with the name Wee-Wee on it and put it on his jacket. He didn't notice it for several months. |
