Afghan Uniform Police Mentor

Location: Afghanistan, Various Locations

FT/PT: Full Time

Police mentors shall work in various locations throughout Afghanistan, mentoring Afghan National Police at District, Provincial, and Regional Commands. Mentor will work with and be embedded with the military based Police Mentor Teams. Mentors shall interface primarily with Afghan Police leadership, key staff, and individual policemen. Mentors shall train and mentor Afghan Police using approved training curriculum and provide feedback on effectiveness of training; mentor Afghan Police on police deployment, tactics and general police duties and operations in often difficult and volatile environment; document mentoring activities and provide reports on progress made.

Experience

8 years of law enforcement experience or similar military experience, with one year experience in one of the following areas:

• Patrol Operations


• Investigations


• Crime/Incident analysis or Criminal Intelligence


• Instructor, Trainer, Field Training Officer,


• Recruiting


• Special Operations, SWAT, Street Crime Unit, K-9, Narcotics, Crime Task Force, intelligence or similar type specialized unit either military or Law Enforcement


• Supervisor/Manager experience

Preferred

• Experience with the issues and operational challenges encountered in ensuring smooth and ongoing operations in emerging situations

Skills

• Excellent communications and organizational skills

Education

• Bachelors degree preferred (not required)
