Posted 6 months ago I'm on the STEP unit (specialized traffic enforcement patrol) and work 7pm to 3am, often have to change up for special details or assignments. However, our regular patrol is working an 8 hour shift from the 70's that sucks (change shift every two weeks with double backs<6am-2pm, 10pm -6am, and 2pm - 10pm>) we have about 55 to 60 patrol officers. I'm trying to get a 10 and/or 12 hour schedule together to present to the Sheriff. If anyone is on a twelve or ten hour shift and could send me a copy of your schedule, it would be greatly appreciated! lawdawg1411@yahoo.com......thanks, Scott |

| Posted 6 months ago We work 10 hr shifts, 4 on 4 off. The bonus being that its great days off + you can take 1 rotation off and have 12 off in a row. The down side is we owe the city 159 hrs of payback every year. You can work a 4 on 4 off 5 on 3 off and I think it comes out better. Heroes Live Forever! |

| Posted 3 months ago We work 10 hour shifts with 4 on and 3 off. It works great. We have a total of 85 units in our region and the days off are Sunday/Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday/Saturday. We have a common day of Wednesday for district meetings and trainings. So we are still able to provide adequate coverage. The shift times are 0600-1600, 0700-1700, 1000-2000, 1200-2200, 1400-2400, 1600-0200 and 1800-0400. We conduct a shift bid once per year based upon seniority. Our special teams have regular shifts of 0800-1800 and 1200-2400 with opposite days off. |

| Posted 3 months ago Our shifts are 06:30 to 14:30; 14:30 to 22:30; then 22:30 to 06:30. I work the 3rd shift and usually love it...I go in once and a while on days to run traffic...Like shooting fish in a barrel. |
