5-23-09:  I have received a phone call regarding Matt. He passed away sometime during the night of May 21st/22nd. It's a very sad situation.

Much appreciated.  Both of Matthew's parents are police officers - dad is still working, mom retired a few years ago after 20 years.  Both of them great kids.  Worked with both of them for a while, then both got promoted to detective and went to different squads. Anyway, thanks again for forwarding the information on Matthew.  Hopefully the bone marrow transplant will help him somewhat.  His mom told me that they froze when the doctors told them that no one has ever survived with the severity of what he has, but her faith is strong and miracles do happen!

Please add to your prayers the 17 year old son of a former co-worker.  Matthew Gonzalez has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 leukemia and lymphoma.  He has been in Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York for a month.  In February he traveled to Rome to sing for the Pope and became ill upon his return.  Two other hospitals misdiagnosed him with "mono" and sent him home.  By the time he got to Columbia he was near death.  He is on a respirator but is hanging on.  His parents, Maureen and Greg, strongly believe in the power of prayer.  Matthew is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant today - his 13 year old sister Meghan is a perfect match and he is also receiving stem cell transplant.    PLease pray for this young man - his life is just beginning and I'm sure prayers will pull him through.

Father God, Please come down and touch the life of this beloved young mand and make him completey whole again. We know your devine power and mercy, and grace and we look to you for devine guidance in raising up this young man to glorify you. In the name of our Lord and Savior who is WORTHY of our Praise. ..and in the name of Jesus who died to give us eteral life, we ask these things. Amen and Amen. forever we give you the name of Matt Gonzalez from this day to be set free of all disease.

I will add Matt to my prayer chain and daily prayer will go out.   Th you for the inffomation.******

God grant insight to those who bring healing. God, let Your spirit give Matthew and his family courage, faith, love, and strength.    May he soon know a time of complete healing, a healing of the body and a healing of the spirit- Amen.

 

Dear LORD JESUS, YOU are Intimately Aware of the struggle Matthew is Experiencing, The Pain and the Despair. YOU Know the Desire of Our Heart LORD, For Matthew to be Healed of this Illness, We Ask For YOUR Healing Touch LORD JESUS, I Know You are Able LORD, Please Lay YOUR Healing Hands on Matthew and Heal Him Miraculously, We Thank YOU JESUS, Amen!

For the power of our Almighty Savior is so great, even the touch of his garment has the power to raise the dead. Our Father, please let your garment fall upon the life of this young man. Let his health be restored and his heart be renewed in you. Lord I pray that you bring mercy to this family and strength to heal. We accept your miracle of a full recovery for this young man on his behalf, for we know that we need only ask and believe in your power and glory.

I have tears falling down my cheeks for this young man who never had a chance to truly experience life. As a mother of 2 boys (one, of which, I lost count how many times we got the phone call that he wasn't going to last thru the night (see post for "son has CP born 1 pound 11 ozs) I know as his parents what are feeling and even though the Lord had different plans for my son, the situation didn't make any easier at the time.  I am feeling grief for Matt, and you, for a this young man I never met. I am here for you to talk to, vent to, cry to. If you need ANYTHING AT ALL, i'll do my best by you.  Please contact me and i'll give you my phone number so I can be a 3rd party, someone impartial to talk to, sometimes there are things you may not be able to share with even your closest family members and I will be happy to just listen to you if that is all you need.
