| Posted almost 4 years ago Just got the time off today to go and plane tickets are purchased. Never been to Michigan so I'm trying to figure out what the local flavor will be and what is everyone going to be interested in at the show. I'm going to be limited to just looking for Idaho of course but am trying to decide what to bring in trade stock. Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Hey Justin, Too bad but I understand the finances part. There are a few of us from the West Coast rolling out for it. I despise flying in part because I don't get along with TSA folks or the airlines including paying for them, but I'm biting the bullet on this one. There are generally more patches than the eye can see at a Nationals. My first one was in 2007 in Reno. I learned quickly Reno PD does not appreciate the Reno 911 references. However, I also learned that a National show is truly an experience to have. Bring patches and bring money (haha). I picked up 25 Idaho patches that I needed at Reno. I hope to pick up another 15-20 this year. Additionally the networking is great. Rather than just emailing or chatting on the phone you get a face and a handshake to make the name. Although there are exceptions with some. When I'm not roving I'll be at Smrfcop's table with her and her K9 patches. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Hey Ryan, I'd love to be able to go myself but I don't think my wife would let me travel 5000 miles to a patch show (unless she came with me & went shopping)!!! Do me a favour? If you get a chance keep an eye open for any Newcastle, Jack, Laura, Lorain or Sharon patches for me! Take Care, Dave. www.freewebs.com/daverpol

| Posted almost 4 years ago Hey guys I reserved a table for the 10PM show on Saturday at the comedy club.
2900 N. East St. Lansing, Mi It's about 2-3 Miles from the show site and as long as we get there by 945PM they will hold the table. I reserved for 4-5 but they said if we have more show then it's not a problem. Tickets are $15. Just so you know and we can get them at the door. Dwayne is expecting me so it'd be nice to have a good showing. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago So how was Nationals for those who went? I am planning on going next year, but hopefully I will be at a department at that time, so we'll have to wait and see about time off. Justin |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Justin,
Nationals were beyond horrible this year as Guy, Bill and Ryan can attest to. I put it on par with the Chicago show a few years who with low vendor and hobbyist turn out. The company that ran it didn't advertise at all. The local police in the area didn't know thing one about it until we told them at the ball game and in face to face encounters. The largest collector in the state is a Chief in East Lansing (Next town to the east which is where MSU is) and he didn't know a thing about it. Frankly he was pissed and refused to come on Sunday becuase of it.
That company won't be doing anymore shows I hope.

| Posted almost 4 years ago bigd5111, From the sounds of it, I am glad I missed this one! I am hoping I can make it to St. Louis next time around, but it all depends on my life at that time and if I get a job in a department. I would be pissed too if I were the chief. One thing I was kind of angry about was that they were going to have some auction thing at this one and they were going to advertise in PC-News and online...I never saw it anyway?! I was looking forward to bidding and getting some great deals. Oh well. I curious to hear what others say about it. thanks for the feedback. Justin
