She deserves the respct from all of us who heed her colors. Everyone of us...on the Fourth of July...her wonderul birthday...all of us should walk up to her and just plant that gentle kiss....a kiss on the colors that dont run from fucking nobody!!!

So, what are you all doing to celebrate?

My church has a brief prayer service-- sing the national songs, read the Declaration of Independence, prayers-- then we have a cookout on the lawn, games for the kiddos, and clean up in time to go watch the fireworks in our village. A good time.

How about you?

Well, I will be celebrating at work unfortunatley. But, it is my turn this year. I had the day off last year. Hopefully, things will go smoothly. We have already been warned that we will be held over. Hopefully will get a post somewhere I can watch the firework. For all of you all that are working, stay safe for those who aren't enjoy the day off. For all you vets out there, god bless and thank you.

wow, I worked road checkpoint yesterday, it sucked. It was 103 degrees and wearing full duty gear including body armor, it made for a very long day. I put in 14 hours on only three hours sleep. Needless to say, when I walked in my door last night, I dropped like a sack of rocks. I couldnt carry my stuff any further....lol.
But it was fun watching the fireworks, it was well worth the day put in. Where I work, the indian reservation puts on one of the biggest fireworks display in town and with it up in the mountains, the explosions are soo loud and echoing off the mountains. Its so loud you can feel it and I do mean feel it. One was so loud, where I was posted at the checkpoint, we closed the road under fire department orders for safety reason. One was so loud, I am not kidding, I felt the concussion of the blast that it almost knocked over me and my partner. We were only a few hundred yards away from ground zero. It was well worth the 14 hours I put in just for that....lol
Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Fourth of July......
