Posted almost 6 years ago Do any of you officers have an actual radio you can listen to in your patrol car, or do they take them out? |

Posted almost 6 years ago I was talking about AM/FM radios in patrol cars. I dident know if they kept them in the patrol car, or if they disconnected them so the officers cant listen to AM/FM radio.

Posted almost 6 years ago LOL Our cars have their good time radios, too, almost always on. Not real loud, though-- hard enough to hear the dispatchers' radio, sometimes, without that interference.

Posted almost 6 years ago we dont even have sirens anymore, we have to drive around with a sack full of cats, and if we need a siren to move traffic we key the P.A, and step on the cats tail.. and yes i hate cats .. so much so that i will wreck my truck diving into a ditch just to run over a cat.

Posted almost 6 years ago Ive got am/fm, cd player, and mp3 in my car. I just listen to classic rock or oldies. Those stations play bette music and get me in a better mood to hunt some dope. As some may have experainced you just have to be mindful to turn the music down when talking on the radio or while recording. Dont want dispatch asking you 20 times to repeat your traffic, or you don't want a good video to have bad audio because the radio was too loud and all the DA hears is your sing along tape you just made.

Posted almost 6 years ago I know it was over 20 years ago but our department ordered the units without radios. IN addition they did not want you to have your own radio either. You were there to do a job, not be distracted by listening to the radio for entertainment. During the midnight shift almost everyone kept a small radio but it was strictly forbidden.
