Some are inquisitive, until I reveal some detailed encounter of the vicious type.  They distance themselves after that for some reason.  For the most part, the same.  Been a year or two since i've been at it, so it's nothing new to them.

as the wife, his work is his main focus but I've learned to deal with it quite well and he's on call 365 days a year 24/7, so even when he's off, he's on call and things are always unpredictable. The kids and I do great with it. I love it when he goes away for trainings . It's the one time I can sleep peacefully without any interruptions of any type.

I think some of us are just built to deal with people who work as officers, etc. and some have to learn in time.

I find to just do things by myself works a whole lot better if I just function without him on my own with me and the kids. When he's home, he's home, when he's not, he's not.
