hi,
i have two tickets for speeding on my record, one in 7/2005 and the other 10/2006. will this disqualify me for the academy? i have since SLOWED way down on the roads

It never stopped me from getting hired on with an agency, usually as long as it is a petty offense and you're up front about it you're good to go, Just remember every agency has their own hiring standards.

thanks, i'm just not sure if there is some sort of problem with liability driving the cruisers or something like that.

Usually the basic requirement is that you HAVE a valid driver's license and haven't been convicted of any violent misds, alcohol related charges like DUI and any felonies.

If your entire criminal record is just two moving violations, then you are going to be fine.

some depts may think those are quite recent. If they were several years ago and you've had no other convictions they might have the impression you've "learned your lesson". This is just subjective opinion though. Don't take my word for it. As far as what FWS2500 says about felonies, that person is correct. Felonies, including felonies for speeding are dq's.
