Posted about 1 year ago Martin "Sandy" Morrissey was an Enlisted Pilot in the US Navy during WWII until they cut the wreckage of his airplane away from him at some Naval Air Station in the US during the war. The Navy Doctor suggested that Sandy tool and work with leather as a means of doing physical therapy. Thanks Doc - you done good. Sandy, 84 years young down there in Georgia, is a master leatherworker; who has become my friend as well as the man who makes custom knife sheaths for me. I know Sandy makes more then just knife sheaths. I know he makes holsters, gun belts, slings, and rifle scabbards. I have a Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum that someone gave me a few years ago. I asked Sandy to make a holster and belt for me. Anyone else remember the TV Show "Have Gun, Will Travel" Starring Richard Boone as Paladin? His holster was black and he had a chess knight on the holster as well as on his business card. Instead of a chess knight I had Sandy use the Coast Guard cap device that I wore on my garrison cap for 10 years, Sandy has recreated that look in a holster for my gun; a gorgeous T Strap Holster. I can't wait for Sandy to get the leather in to make the belt with cartridge loops for me. Thanks Sandy - you are a good friend and a man of many talents.
