Posted over 5 years ago MILLVILLE, N.J. (AP) ― A retired police officer who came to the aid of a woman during a domestic dispute has died from injuries suffered during the altercation. Former Millville police officer Carmen DeGregorio, 51, died Thursday afternoon, two days after police say he helped a woman escape an assault by her boyfriend outside a Millville convenience store. Authorities say DeGregorio intervened as 30-year-old Chris Robinson tried to force the woman into a car trunk. After she escaped, police say Robinson ran DeGregorio down with his car. Robinson was arraigned on 10 charges Thursday, including felony murder. Bail was set at $1 million cash. It was not immediately known if he had retained a lawyer. |
