Bond was set at $2 million Monday for the Covington woman accused of causing a crash that critically injured Cincinnati Police Sgt. Bryce Bezdek.

Camilla Duley, also known as Carmella Duley, 41, of Covington, was in court Monday on drug and traffic charges but not on criminal charges involving the serious injuries to Bezdek. Those are expected to be filed soon, police said.

The 4:30 p.m. Saturday crash happened not long after investigators say Duley and two others were shooting up heroin in a maroon Saturn sport-utility vehicle in the bigg's parking lot on Colerain Avenue.

Deputies started chasing the SUV shortly after it pulled out of the store parking lot.

The chase, hitting 90 mph, eventually found its way to southbound Interstate 75 and the Western Hills viaduct.

Two of the SUV's tires were punctured by Stop Sticks that police stretched across part of I-75, but did little to slow the vehicle.

Bezdek and another officer were in the highway median getting ready to lay more Stop Sticks when Duley hit a pickup truck, sending that vehicle spinning out of control. The truck hit Bedzek.

The two other people in the SUV also are facing charges. Pamela Robinson, 40, of Fort Mitchell, was charged with possession of drugs, falsification and obstructing official business for initially giving police a false name. Her bond was set at $800,000. James Willman, 54, of Price Hill, was charged with drug possession and other drug-related charges. His bond was set at $120,000.

More than a half-dozen Cincinnati police officers were in the courtroom Monday. Hamilton County Sheriff's Cpl. Mike Steers told Hamilton County Municipal Judge Nadine Allen that Bezdek remained in critical condition.

Sgt. Bezdek will be in my prayers! I am one of the lucky ones who survived until retirement.
