| Posted about 4 years ago Actually, in Northern California there are many Jewish officers. Maybe its our larger percent of pupulation or fairly good salaries but I know of at least 30-40 officers in Bay Area alone. My department has at least 2 others and in my previous job, Alameda County S.O. there were probably 4 others I knew about (out of 1,000 sworn) Berkeley PD, however has at least 10 officers of all ranks that I know and about 2-3 more I've heard about, and SFPD has probably dozens, including a Deputy Chief. We're no NYPD but there seem to be plenty. Southern California Shomrim has probably 100 members or so and a good website. Our Northern California Chapter has just been established. |

I also did not care what race, nationality, gender, or even their sexual preference wa. As long as they did their job and backed me up and were part of the brotherhood, not much else matters. |

I'll answer that question, The New York City Police Department is the largest police department in the world with now 2009 40,000 officers and the largest Jewish personal as well, a kick ass force that I ever known even in Isreal, the mother land! ( I sound like a guilting Jewish mother right?? its intentional).. naw though- My chief is Jewish-- and Im lucky to also be in Norcal Shomrim.. we are a start up but we have many different kinds of cops-- from special agents- to chiefs (3 that i know of including mine) - federal guys- marshals-- reg officers-- detectives... swat guys.. a sniper/homicide guy.. helo pilot.. we are very lucky to have so many different people in our group. | Posted about 4 years ago I'm sitting here every freakin day reading these post on police link and on officer.com. what's in a police officer praying to his or her God, I don't know but after many years in my experience is theirs one God when your ass is lite by gun fire and you end up with dirty shorts!
