I was always taught that these stickers were pretty much loud announcing targets, so I don't put them on my car.  I will say they're is a funny part to that teaching.  One of the people that taught me this was my stepfather who is an officer, couple years later he gives me an FOP window PLACARD and tells me to put it on my window (when I mean tell I mean he's got control issues).  I left it on there for a bit (luckily I had a sticker on the other side saying "Protected by Smith & Wesson" lol), but it was cheap and fell apart so one night at work I spent 10-15 minutes taking it off my window with my "don't care if I damage it" knife (because we all one multiple ones for different functions).

No stickers for me.  I have family and friends that ride in my vehicle and last thing I would want is for us to be targeted because of the sticker.  I also hope that people that do put stickers on their car conduct themselves in a manner that brings credit to Law Enforcement. I have seen many vehicles with placards and stickers driving in such a way that discredits the LE community.

 Good day,

The other day I was heading home late at night pulled up behind a vehicle, four hooded young adults inside, one taillight out, beside the point. They had a POAM (Police Officer Association of Michigan) sticker upside down on the back window. I didn’t know if it was a diss on LEOs or a "get out of being stopped card" or  what but the sticker is what first drew my attention to the car not the light or occupants.  Just wanted to add my two cents on the subject.

I have stopped more vehicles with the blueline stickers on their vehicle, and not even be in law enforcement or know anyone in law enforcement...

I wish we went to one sticker and only for cops...given to you by the dept.....

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS MATTER!!!!!!!!!!

.... bet you'd take your comment back right now. you don't have to be an LEO to show support. same goes for civilians who have USMC stickers or any other branch for that matter. as long as its not UNIT specific no mature person would take offence. you sound like a boot rookie posting that ####. be thankful civilians support you

Maybe you didn't read the whole thread, this was a 7 year old thread you dug up and the reason behind it was that ORIGINALLY the blue line signafied that you were a LEO or LEO family and when people found that out they put it on their vehicles to try and get out of tickets. Oh, I removed the S##t word in case there were other people besides Marines reading this. Thank you for your service USMCDan
