I am a former state trooper in the state of Florida.  I live in lake county north of orlando. I am in college getting my BA degree in criminal justice and hopefully getting back in to law enforcement in some degree if not an officer with the local Sheriff's office. I am a 10+ year cancer survivor.  I lost my Mom to cancer last June.  She was diagnosed only 6 weeks before she passed.  It was the most difficult thing I have gone through.  I am only glad she did not have to suffer long.  It started in her sinus and spread to her mouth, lungs, liver, skull, and lymph nodes.  She was only 65 years young.  But she drank very heavily and smoked in her earlier years.  This was the thing between the drinking and the smoking.

I hope to talk to most of you and get to know you all.

Thank you

Lynne

Hi Lynne, and welcome to the group. I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom, I know it hurts. I lost my father to cancer over 10 years ago, and not a day goes by where I don't think about him. If could suggest, remember her in the good times.. always keep those memories close, and in your mind you'll see her when she was healthy and happy.

I'd also like to congratulate you on being a 10+ year survivor, and for sharing with us.

God bless.

Todd

Lynne, my Condolences on the loss of your Mother!! You have come to the right group for support, because we are a tightly knit family!! Anybody reading this post will agree to that. Know that we are here for you, and will support you!!

Let me say, too, that you are obviously staying strong, as you are a 10+ year survivor of Cancer. I have walked in your shoes, as many of us here have. We have lost loved ones to this disease (for me it was my 36 year old first wife) or are Cancer Survivors ourselves (again, for me, it was Single Cell Skin Carcinoma within a few years of my first wife's death).

More importantly, there are others here that through their support and prayers make each of us a little stronger, and a little closer in friendship.

Welcome to Police Link, Welcome to this Group and Welcome to your New Extended Family.

Lynne,

I cannot begin to welcome you to this group any more than you already have. I offer you my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother, as I know your pain. I have lost my aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, uncle and many more of my family to several forms of cancer.

I also would like to congratulate you on your 10 year survival!!!! My mother is a 23 year survivor of cervical cancer and I am currently only half way through my 2nd year survival of cervical cancer. I await the day I may claim my 10 years too!!

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless your path and continue to keep you strong!
