You know what I'm talking about. She's the first one to tell others how to do their job, but don't dare question her!!! The rules apply to everyone, except her. No cell phones in the radio room unless they are on silent and I am listening to her phone ring off the hook! Every department has one of these and I just had to vent about ours.

I know what you mean, especially about the bossy part. Good grief. Drives me nuts.

You may know where you are, and God may know where you are.... but if your Dispatcher doesn't know where you are, you'd better be on good terms with God.

One? Hell, I wish we had just one. I've lost count of how many we have.

What about those that are right fighters, they want to argue about anything, everything and nothing yet they are always right. grrrrrrrr

I guess it is because anger is the easiest emotion to let others see especially when you are insecure. Still doesn't make coping with them any easier. LOL

We call ours "the Queen" she has the sheriff and the undersheriff both wrapped around her finger. She does no wrong and it's always poor her when things don't go her way.

We have more than one, and one of them is a male who extremly ocd and if you don't do it his way, he freaks out and tries to tell "the right way" to do it. We also have another is a part time dispatcher who thinks she is right in every way no matter what and talks about how much she hates the job and can't wait until she graduates college to get another job. Well, I like my job and having to put up with her negative thoughts on the job just brings me down and gets me upset especially when she tries to tell me what to do when I have been there longer.

LOL   we have the male who thinks he knows EVERYTHING and even when you prove him wrong he will argue with you as to why he isn't. AND we have the princess who gets the double standards and heaven forbid she answer a phone or follow the rules that everyone else is supposed to follow.

One of our pains came to my shift, she is no longer one of the golden children. But she insists on arguing all time and being so negative, I hate it. I wish i could afford to change jobs. I am hoping we will eventually get shift bids and change shifts myself LOL

WHY IS IT ALWAYS A "SHE"!!!! LOL.  You know I've found there are very few of life's problems you can't solve with a burlap sack, a river and a rock. JK  :)

Drama queens and drama kings are a source of stress to be sure but hopefully there are enough other normal people to vent to about them.  If management won't do anything,  it may be a case of vigilante justice .....lol.   Let's see ....I have had TWO LEO wannabes ......one super fireman who has seen everything ...done everything...knows everything....one stick up the ass LEO who criticised every move.......ALL MEN......must be something in the water around here...lol.  Find a way to have fun with them or they will drive you nuts ......

There is always one that has done everything, knows everything and has done that at least twice if you have done it once. The one who has been everywhere you talk about and seen everything you have seen. She remebers stuff that happened 7 years ago even thought she has only worked here 4 years. And the one that feels that every thing happens to them and they are the only people working when an event happens. Everything is about them all the time. OMG it drives me crazy and we have two on my shift.

I work in a large dept where there are dispatchers and calltakers, as two separate positions...we have several, lets just call them "lovely" people on both sides...those that thingk and do get away with everything!   I've been taking calls for 20 years now and it seems like it's not going to get any better. Oh and not to mention the supervisors that get away with murder!!!! Don't get me started on that!

I keep telling myself --- 10 more years and my parole is up!!  When I die I don't have to worry about going to hell...I work there!

I feel for all of those that have the same problem, the whining, bitching, nasty attitudes, my crap don't stink and I'm always right male and females that ended up in our work place! Heaven help us all!

Actually we have more than one, but being on night shift I only have to work with one. Lucky me.  I talk alot about my dogs.  She has probably turned me in saying that i am psycho thinking my dogs are my children. ROFLMAO. That is what she tells me, is i am to obsessed with  my dogs and treat them to much like humans. I told her if only humans were more like dogs it would be a better place to live.  They are always happy to see you, they have  short memory, they don't stay long and very grateful for anything you do for them. She looked at me real funny and went back to shopping on ebay LOL and she wonders why I talk about them. LOL smanchie, my partner is from florida, she likes to belittle people, when i mentioned going to Destin for vacation, she said is that west coast or east coast, i said neither it is in the pan handle, she said well your wrong, in florida there is only east coast and west coast, I said, it doesn't matter to me as long as it isn't here. Then i said something about going to the armament museum at Eglin AFB and she said i was saying it wrong that it was ELGIN AFB, i told her i don't think so, my dad retired from there I don't think that is he name, of course i got tired of listening to her and decided to show her i was right this time and googled it, i showed it to her and she made me google the name she said it was as she was going to once again make me feel stupid, oh did i mention she is smarter because she went to college and paid for it herself and since i have nothing more than a high school diploma and a few college credits for emt and police academy. I love going to work. 12 more years before my sentence is up unless i get an early parole to a different dept. LOL

LOL, we used to have one that like, but we beheaded her a few months ago and she is no longer a dispatcher.  When I hired in 3 1/2 years ago, I was informed by her that I was the "scum" on the bottom of the pond and that what I thought didn't matter.  Anyway, I might have been the "scum" then, but now, I am the TAC and she is no longer here...hehehehe.  She has told that to several other dispatchers that have hired in under me, but I told them to ignore her.  She is the type of person that had to make everyone (including officers) miserable.

I can only hope that the people I work with now, don't think the same about me...lol.

We do have a few of those as well and unfortunately one is on my shift. If you correct her she gets very defensive and tries to get an attitude and question you like you have no idea what you are talking about. This job is just a paycheck to her and she does not have any common sense at all nor does she care about the safety of my deputies which just drives me crazy. I have been in dispatch for 4 years and by no means am I the best but so I am told I am one of the best that we have and she tries to correct me and I could just choke her when she does.  I have to agree with JIMROC because I always tell my dispatchers that.

The ones that we have had like that do not last at all. The most recent one quit and we are all very thankful.
