Most security services wont allow you to carry until you are 21, so I wouldn't waste getting the armed license until I was 21. My only suggestion is to listen closely and to ask a lot of questions.... |

| Posted over 4 years ago If you are going to be a security guard I have 2 suggestions: 1/ know the address of the location where you are working and 2/ if you need to call 911 and don't know your location don't start screaming at 911 for not helping you. It's not our fault you are going to get you butt kicked because we can't find you. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I dunno Cali laws to answer the question about carrying. In Ohio we have to be 21. That's why I gotta wait one more year to enter my classes. I'm sure your instructors would be able to tell you. The class I'm going to be taking is with the Sheriff's Dept., so at least you know you're getting the correct info, lol. I'm excited to finally get to my real training as well. Good luck! |

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a guard card for 5 years when I lived in CA. All you need is the short term memory of a 5 year old to pass the test. About carrying an exposed firearms, it depends on company policy. I worked for a international security company that has pretty serious policies and procedures as far as protecting themselves from liabilities. They did not have a policy preventing anyone under 21 with a firearm permit to carry an exposed firearm. It just had to be an approved weapon and caliber, just like everyone else. |
