A question about Chicago PD patches

Posted almost 6 years ago I have a question about Chicago PD patches:
I’m assuming that the number indicates a prescient, and is sown onto the shoulder patch to identify where in the city the officer is assigned. What is different about the gold and blue borders? I believe that the patch is worn on one shoulder and the Illinois flag on the other. Is that correct? Which patch goes where? |

| Posted almost 6 years ago Hey buddy, Yes the gold border is for the boss' shirts, and the blue ,the line officers. The white border might be an outdated one for the boss'. They wear the CPD patch on the left shoulder, and the Chicago city flag on the right shoulder, I believe. Not the american flag, because Chicago thinks it's not only seperate from the state of Illinois, but the United States as well. LOL (We're better off, trust me). |

| Posted almost 6 years ago I jut fond another Chicago patch! This one is octagon shaped, has a blue border and white background with the city seal in the center. The other two patches are triangular shaped and have the interchangeable numbers in the center. The flag patch that I have has gold border and two pale blue horizontal stripes and four red 6-ponit stars. Do they refer to the Communist party? Is that the city flag? If anyone needs to see them I can I’ll post them on my bio.
