How many have lived or served in a foreign third world country? Until you have seen first hand what our country would be like without war and fighting for the protection of our rights & freedom you cannot ever fully understand what it is like to live without the freedoms that most take for granted. War is necessary....I wish that politicians would stay out of it and let our guys kick ass.

I refer to my last statement................... I have not seen but a few statements by those who have first hand knowledge or war. But I see plenty of statements from those who have no true knowledge of war. I have reserved comment on this for a reason that I will keep to myself. Unless you know what WAR is how can you speak about it?
Please think before you make any further comments on this matter. If you want to know about war go to a vetrans hospital and ask them what they think about war. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK....................................................

Great post, bettter yet send them to walter reed in D.C. where the real war vets are. I've been to war in some pretty f'ed up places, been shot at and blown up on a daily basis for a year pretty much. Don't speak of that which you do not know. That would be like police trying to tell a brain surgeon how to operate.

READ THIS AND HEED THE ADVICE..........................

lol does it really matter if Vietnam is a third world country? its the message in LCarvin's post. I'll be the first one to say war isn't fun. been there done that. like many of the others who have posted on this thread. war isnt the problem crazy people like stalin, hitler, mussolini, binladen, and husein unfortunately are the problem. Letting people like them run rampid anywhere in the world is unsafe for us here and 9/11 goes to show that. the men and women who join or have served, and some that have died or been injured, go abroad and protect the right to freedom and the american way of life- know what it is to sacrifice. the other people in this thread, maybe to include yourself will never know exaclty what sacrafice is, but thats ok cause myself and the rest of us who have served in the military will make sure you can continue to live life free and ingnorant to the expirence of war.

You know it's a lil off topic but I was told that if we should fight this war here in the sates. At first I was a little confused, thinking the person meant something else, but was soon cleared up by her unyielding stupidity. After she cleared the confusion I asked her why she would wish that. Her response was that if our guys were going to die "defending" (which she said sarcastically) me then they should do it here in the states. I was shocked and told her that she obviously didn't understand what that meant. And of course she was upset when I told her she had her head up her ass. But I dont think people who think stuff like this are actually thinking. I mean my friends and I or people I don't even know serve and protect everyday. So, I asked her what she would think if she seen a dead US soldier in her front yard???? Or if she was kidnapped, and knew the only way to get away from her aggresors was to pray that men and women of the US military was to sacrifice their own lives to save her. After I asked her those questions she seemed to think she was done talking. Just goes to show you what people think of without thinking of everything else first.

from vet to vet thank you. i agree completely. i've been to Iraq once for a year straight. sometimes i wish i had a camera going 24/7 just so i can show people what i and others like us have been through. now. dont get me wrong i do not boast that what i have expierenced has made me more of an American than anyone else on this site, but i would boast in the face of those that would talk against or put down anyone serving thier country. its not thier choice what battles they fight but they believe in thier country enough to die for it and thats enough for me to give them all the respect in the world. so to fellow service members of any branch, thank you for you for your sacrafice. not many know what we have done first hand to give them the freedom they sometimes abuse.

i've said it a thousand times, not here, but i've said it.. so long as madmen roam the earth and do evil, there will be war.. you can't negotiate with madmen, it never will work.. the only thing they understand, force of arms..

I've been deployed once. I wouldn't ask to go again like I did the first time, but I wouldn't think twice about going again if my country needed me. There's a quote I like: "We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to bring violence to those who would do us harm". Alot of people should look more closely at this and understand that we dont ask where we fight, we fight where we are asked.

Hey man, it's not a touchy thing, it's a pride we feel for our Corps, you obviously wouldn't know anything about that. I did 8 1/2 years in the army before I joined the Corps, and I now have 10 years in the Corps. Here's a joke for you, the reason I got out of the army and joined the Corps, is because after 8 1/2 years of training, I figured it was time to start serving my country.

For thgoes of you that have or are currently serving in the army, more power to you, keep up the good work. There are some who have joined one of the branches of the armed forces, but I don't think they honestly understand what it is they have commited themselves to. All they did was go through the motions and claim they were there.
